"try in a few different positions" --- why wouldn't you just line it up to the waveform where you can see where the note needs to be, or if this session was recorded with a click track why not edit to the grid or shuffle modes?
this is amateurish .........the instructor doesnt inform you of utilizing the shortcuts to what he just accomplished......thus keeping your workflow on a beginner level.... get real when youre an intern at a studio, youre not gonna be using a mouse hardly..AND theyll EXPECT you to know MOST of the keyboard shortcuts........ like Ctrl+E .....the one this so called "Advance DVD was supposed to inform you.
