Or the shock wave could cause 500mph winds to go around the earth a few times over, causing catastrophic destruction. Remember, during the time they did not have powerful supercomputers to simulate possible bad scenarios and their impacts. Even with it, one could be wrong!.

Has anyone seen the ready.gov commercial where everyone in the family looses gravity and they start floating thru the air and then after it's over they land on their feet and then they grab their bug-out bag and leave.
