  • is that you playing? because the fingering isn't together with the sound... or did you superimpose the sound over the video?

  • @shafran100 I can't hook my mics up to the camera so I have to add the music over the video file later.

  • Sounds Great!

  • Thank you for putting this video up. I will use it for inspiration for my Florida All State audition. Two thumbs up! :D

  • Really very nice playing. Try and experiment with different characters and contrasts even more. Check out the Mravinsky performance with Leningrad online

about 30 seconds in, see how they change to almost sotto voce, and then come back more intense later...its really effective.

  • Very romantic. Brahms is complex and highly structured, but you make it sound fluid and very natural. You make it look easy! I love your playing.

  • have been watching ur videos, specially La Mer, helped me to get an ideia for an audition...Thanks

where u from and who is your teacher?

  • @billprokofiev I studied with Hans Jensen at Northwestern but I'm from CA originally.

  • Very nice--try not to rush in a couple spots.

  • good! (:

    but different fingerings~~

  • great sound !!bravo !!!very touching !!!

  • Wow that is amazing! You really express yourself! How do you do that awsome vabrato? ( i know i can't spell it though)

  • amazing !!!!

  • bravo!

  • whats with those fingerings?

  • Nice voice!

  • great sound!!!

  • Your black rooms you record in always look swift. Why don't I have a swift black room?

  • I think I'm gonna cry...again.. lol

  • beautiful--very expressive

  • I believe they are looking for a very slow drawn out tempo for this excerpt. It's harder that way, but that's why it's on the auditions. Check out the recordings and you will probably see what I mean about the really slow tempo.

  • really good

  • Thank You Again for making this recording, this piece is also apart of my audition as well as don juan. You saved my life literally!

  • Blake you've done a phenomenal job with this my friend!

  • Thanks! Your suggestion to play along with a recording made a huge difference. I recorded the excerpt from a CD and looped it in Windows Media Player. Then I wore headphones and performed along with the loop.

  • ...wow i think I've just fallen in love with you! Lol Good job, keep it up.
