I'm still not sure if that genjer-genjer is actually a connotation word for "general-general", because if you change the word genjer-genjer into "general-general" then it's fit with what communist did to some generals, cut them and cook them in a pit. Sick story.. with a propaganda movie that shown each year (at president Soeharto era), untill now that story is still believed by alot of right winged ppl, especially ppl in TNI (Indonesian army) they still prohibited to sing this song.

when first time i ear Genjer-genjer song...i can guest that its not Javanese language...

some words in Genjer-genjer not used in Javanese Language...ex : NONG(ON),SING(NOT),JEBENG(GIRL­,<<Osingnese language adopted from Maduranese, JEBING)

then i found history of Genjer-genjer in Wikipedia...and i was right..this song is Osingnese Song...
