  • would this boat happen to be on Lake Washington?

  • I'm a weird piece of work for sure. All my adult life I have liked machines-

boats, cars, trucks, tractors, motorcycles... to be QUIET.

I know there must be a connection between how noisy a motor is and

the extent of a male erection in many guys but I never understood the

    concept.

    My boat was a 1958 Egg Harbor 42 with 2 Mercruiser 390 4 barrels,

but she was QUIET and comfortable cruising or fishing all day. We

could relax on the fantail holding normal conversation no problem

    at 12 Kts.

  • @GooglFascists

    nice boat

  • Whew... I was afraid the video would be in 720 and I really didn't want to shit my pants on the spot. I love it!

  • Just beautiful.

  • Which 12 cylinder Rolls Royce engine?

These boats are insanely wonderful... or wonderfully insane. If I ever win the lottery I'll be running one of these round Lake Winnipesaukee until I get killed doing it or they make it illegal.

  • holy crap! Damn amazing boat. Serious exhaust envy here

  • Dispatch is one glorious sounding boat... I would love an opportunity to hear that beast live!

  • Great.

    Thanks.

    Do more.

  • Who the hell built the mufflers on this thing? Sounds like twice the displacement of the Scripps-powered boat.

  • No mufflers, straight exhaust from the motor out the back. The difference is that Dispatch runs 5" exhausts and the Scripps only runs 3". Combine that with a ferocious water pump and there you have it.

    SCM

  • Amazing sound! Although I must say that it must be rather difficult to be around that exhaust note for any length of time (I have to wear ear plugs with my 1959 Johnson Super Sea Horse 35). The Dispatch reminds me of Oppenheimer after the first atomic bomb test, but with a twist: "I am become deaf - the destroyer of ears". Love to hear that thing in person and have a ride...

  • @beeroosterm yes, you must presume most of it gets left behind at speed....

  • It is not the first motor you hear around :30, "Dispatch" does not fire until :55 seconds into it. The boat prior is a V-12 Scripps Marine Engine, which in the light of things sounds pretty quiet compared to Turners "Dispatch".

  • 0:57! OH MY GOD! That's awesome!
