  • You have made me want to read Isobelle Carmody books so bad. They are so hard to find in the U.S

  • @aloraX24Xrose Most excellent; my aim is to create Carmody fans the world over!!! But yes, I have a very dear friend in the US and she really had to work hard to get her hands on The Obernewtyn Chronicles. They *are* there, you just have to dig. But I recommend trying The Book Depository site, because they have everything and they have it cheap!

  • I want Darksong, but they don't sell it in the U.S, but i love the Obernewtyn Chronicles and I can't wait for The Sending!

  • OZZIE OZZIE OZZIE....OI OI OI!

Haven't read any of Isobelle Carmody's book really except The Gathering which we studied for English in Yr8. But even that was a masterpiece.

Even though the Tomorrow series was popular back then....I think it's popular today. Ever since the release of the film, I'd just be standing in the YA section of Borders and there will be groups of kids grabbing every single one of the series.

  • @tappentiggerer I really recommend checking out Isobelle's series - they're bloody good. My friend studied The Gathering at school also - clearly i went to the wrong school, because we didn't get such good material!

I'm glad that the Tomorrow series is still going strong; i think the filmmakers were hoping that the movie would introduce a new generation to the books. Heck, anything to get the youngsters reading (and not just Twilight!)

  • Yay for Australia!! John Marsden is one of my favourite authors! I love the Tomorrow series. I have Feeling Sorry for Ceila and Cybele's Secret but i don't have the first book.

Melina Marchetta is one of my favourite authors, I love on the jellicoe road!

    Great Video

  • @HellsOnEarth I really need to read Melina's more recent stuff; Looking for Alibrandi and Saving Francesca i read several years back, but i'm certainly interested in Finnikin of the Rock especially.

Wildwood Dancing is a lovely novel - check it out, if you can. I think that Cybele's Secret can be read as a seperate piece, but it's the same universe and some of the same characters.

  • thank you for this video! It was nice to hear about authors I wasn't aware of...

  • @ocdofbooks Oh good, i'm really glad to have introduced you to some new names. Please do check them out!
