I can't help but think that these battles would be more entertaining if they were expected to deliver the coup de gras. I understand the builders put a lot of time, effort, and money into building these things... but watching a robot light the other one up when he's immobilized is much better than watching him wait to be counted out.
If you are going to try to employ a fire weapon, at least use a welding torch or something. A can of hairspray isn't going to do anything.
