  • Loved. Amazing.

    Thank you for sharing!

  • You are hot and talented :) I love you videos!! You are the best makeup guru on youtube, seriously!

  • I love listening to you. Thanks, my eyecorners are turned down, which sucks, but I'm gonna try to open up my eyes more with this look.

  • Thank you so much! I'm going to try everything you taught me...as soon as i get the right tools!!! Thank you soooo much!!!

  • Thank you for a fantastic tutorial.

I used to wear make up up until I turned 20, between 20 and now (40) my eyelids have definitely changed. How I used to wear make up no longer fits with my eyes and I looked like a clown. Not pretty I can tell you. I will be trying this tomorrow so fingers crossed :)

  • Wow! You are amazing. My FANTASY would be to meet you in person for a session. I would love to learn what colours work for me. Keep up the good work!

  • So Fantastic.Excellent job, I really learned a lot from you! Thank You for posting your videos

  • I'm so afraid of lining the upper water line! I've tried and I blink like crazy and ruin my make up :(. Suggestions? PS, you're GORGEOUS! I love it when you wink and raise your eyebrow at the end of your videos; so flirty, hee hee ;)

  • yup - over 30 - still love make-up; really liked this tutorial and have now subscribed...your videos are one I could actually use! Thx.

  • An oldie but a goodie! I really like the shadow application in this video, that's Wayne :)

  • I love all of your videos! You are so helpful and educational thank you so much!

  • Great job! It looks great! :)

  • Great video. Learned a lot about applying eye makeup onto hooded eyes (which I have). Thank you.

  • Super! Thank You

  • which push liner brush would you recommend?in general, i tend to like smaller ones cos they give me more control.. any smaller push liner one you liked? :) thank you for all the amazing videos!

  • Love it thank u

  • weird... I saw so many of your tutorials plus a lot other teachers, found a smilar technique few days ago and tried it today.. worked fine. Now I see this and wish I would have seen it years and years ago.

  • I decided tonight that I needed to go through all of your videos to see what I needed to improve on, for a refresher course. I must say that this video moved me to tears. I have hooded eyes. And I didn't understand that until I watched this video. All I could think was that my eye couldn't show any color if I lined them normally. With this video I can finally put that polishing touch to my eye makeup. Thank you.

  • I have to thank you for this tutorial! I'm 24 and I realized that my eyes are becoming slightly hooded as my fresh youth is going away. When I look at my mother, who is nonetheless a gorgeous woman, I can see my eyes are going to be really hooded and closed. So, again, thank you for generously sharing your techniques. I'm now trying this on myself just with my bronzer and a light eyeshadow : WOW!

    Soso, from France

  • Can't wait to try it on my mom!

  • nice

  • this helps me make my mother feel and look beautiful. =) thank you!

  • I have a client who has that kind of bulging eye that makes the area above the crease recessed. Have you ever addressed how to apply eye makeup on someone with this kind of eye in one of your video tutorials?

  • As always you are awesome your infor

  • you are one of the gratest genius of the entire world

  • Very informative! Love watching your videos. I do not usually watch guys tutorials but I am very impress with your techniques and instructions :) Can you tell me if tight lining the upper eye lids makes small eyes even smaller??

  • Is there a list somewhere of each item used in this video?

  • thank you for sharing. Lot of good ideas. You're cute ;)

  • I went step by step right along with you and love the look. I'm going to keep this look. I've never been very good with shadow. I feel like I can do this. Thanks.

  • Thank you so much for sharing this! I cannot wait to try it. I've just discovered your videos tonight and am so grateful. I'm afraid that watching your videos is going to be my new obsession!

  • You are a very attractive person.

  • I may be your oldest fan - 56. I get out my tools and colors and make up with you step by step. I've learned so much. Thank you.

  • Your videos are SO professional, so detailed and perfectly done. Thank you so much for your time and talent and for sharing your talent with us. You stated to "RATE WITH STARS". I would gladly give any of the dozens of vids I've seen from you. But how??? Keep looking but can never find where to do that.

  • @dixielyn2 it was possible to rate with starts on youtube couple of years ago. Now I only can rate with stars after watching on iPhone, the standard youtube app there has this option in the 'rate, comment' button. Anyways, now you still can show your appreciation by pressing the 'thumbs up' button!

So, I give thumbs up for this tutorial and for your comment as well!

  • loving your make up tips - thanks for sharing

  • I totally LOVE your videos. You're probably the most reliable and talented makeup-guru on Youtube. :)

  • Love you, love your tutorials! Where have you been all my life! I guess it's true what they say a man really does know what looks best on a woman. I've always been an absolute spase w/makeup & @47 I'm really struggling. Been watching a lot of videos trying to get a clue, of all those I've watched yours are the best. Your voice is so calming, You've been a great help, the only thing that would be better is having you here in NYC to get a first hand tutorial! Guess a girl can dream!

  • This is still my favorite video of yours!!! This technique changed the way I do my eye makeup. Thank you! xo

  • in make up school they teach us to avoid shimmer eyeshadows on mature clients beacause it makes the wrincles of the eyes more obvious! what is your opinion about that?

  • in make up school they teach us to avoid shimmer eyeshadows on mature clients! what is your opinion about that?

  • You are an artist! Do you paint pictures or do other types of art too?

  • how would i put a color like purple on a mature hooded eye if they ask for it? mt boyfriends granny asked me to do her make up but she wanted a matte brown purple.. but i wasnt sure i could pull it off.. please help

  • It started out well... then you applied it to yourself....

  • This looks great. Thanks so much! Learned so much.

  • I really like this look, just one question, is there any reason you can't apply the eye liner to the inner upper eye lid before putting the shadows on? I'm just worried about smugging the shadows when I pull the skin up :)

  • KISS YOUR HAND 10 TIMES

    SAY YOUR CRUSH 15 TIMES

    POST TO 2 OTHER VIDEOS

    LOOK AT YOUR HAND

  • so im going to do my mothers makeup for a wedding coming up is it okay to put fake eyelashes on her? or will this just effect the out come of the makeup and make her look older?

  • @ellanroxy I'm no expert, but have you ever tired those small individual eyelashes? Just on the outer 1/3 to half of lash-line.

  • I do like this, I think you did a GREAT job! Thank you for the helpful tutorial!!! As a woman over 45, I find I get disappointed from watching all those younger gals doing eye makeup videos, because I can no longer wear the vivid brights that they wear. I need more subdued eye looks. Plus, my lids aren't as taut as theirs are anymore, either.

  • This. Is. BRILLIANT! Hands down the single-most useful make-up tutorial I have ever seen done by anyone. Straightforward, practical advice that I can walk straight over to my makeup mirror with and try tomorrow, which is exactly what we women need. I hate to think that over 30 qualifies as "mature" but really I think this is good advice for anyone. I really appreciate the practical nature of the advice that you've given here, and that you've shown the colours & brushes as well.

  • This is the type of look I've been trying to find on makeup artist videos. After watching this, I've always tightlined and used the liner techniques here. They work brilliantly and have greatly improved my look in a natural but refined way. thank you so much!

  • you are good mannn very good

  • Fantastic - very easy to follow - superb presentation

  • Okie dokie XD

  • crazy...i've been looking for someone who will do a tutorial for 30 something eyes and I hadn't found anything but 40 up and 30 under....leave it to a man to fix my make-up problems....my husband will be so pleased!...thanx! :)

  • hello wayne. just want your opinion on this, do you use cake eyeliners? and if you do, what brands have you tried using that works really good? thank you very much and have a good day! take care!

  • Lovely video! What kind of eyelids would you call yours?

  • Asian beuties are waiting for you lushfmlk.info

  • Perfect. Thank you.

  • Mature for you means "over 30" ? OMG. I am 37 now and I'm starting to feel a little more mature... but till the age of 35 I felt and looked really young! 30-35 nowadays is young not mature.

  • The world's backwards. My mother have very much depth in her eyes naturally, I would love to have her eyelids and eyes. I(am seventeen), on the other hand, have very hooded eyes...

  • Great work! Thanks.

The only problem with your demonstration ,is that your eyelids r young and still liftet

Do u have a solution to droped eyelids? Thanks again

  • I love the look . Excellent. Thank you. Also love how you contoured your face w bronzer and the peony blush-I have a simiiar mineral blush and love it. Your vids are fantastic and informative.

  • great tutorial. maybe i missed it some where. but what do you mean when you say "hooded eyes" ? thanks.

  • Thank you so much for this video. I am 35+ and have hooded eyes naturally which are getting more defined by aging. I have a very difficult time with applying eye-makeup and your tip on using the eye-liner on the upper water line is brilliant!!

Most tutorials are done for young women and I cannot get the same look that they get so THANK YOU again!! Best wishes...

  • Make a date with sexy wife *lushfmlk.info*

  • Just subbed, your vids are so refreshing and you obviously know what you're talking about being a professional. ps: I'm going to try this on my Mum who's 54! :D and thanks!

  • Thank you for your videos, I'm studying to be a make up artist and it's really good to see another artists way of applying different techniques.

  • Hi Wayne, I've just followed your technics but not the colours, and I am absolutely delighted, I used turquoise and two shades of purple for my eyes, and I must say that I am looking pretty good for a sixty year old, now I will be able to look good all the time, I would have normally used just one shade of eye shadow but you have changed all that.

    With Many Thanks

  • u r so talented!! i cant wait to try this on my mom :)

  • You are a miracle-worker! I have been looking all over for a tutorial like this one being 54, loving make-up and trying to adjust the heavy eye-liner-glittery looks to my now maturing skin. You are right on message with everything you say and you have created a gorgeous look that works very well for me. THANK YOU. It is so difficult to find palettes with matte eyeshadow. Would you consider suggesting some? Shine on!

  • Great job! I like how it all came together at the end. Not over done.

  • Thank you so much for a practical and much needed tutorial. Your tutes are very easy to follow, and your voice is so soothing..

  • Awesome tutorial- thx Wayne

I have had a bad allergic reaction to mac makeup...I hate that...but could you please tell me the next best thing as far as make up goes...I would love any feed back that you could give me.... Your techniqe as far as applying your make up is awsome....

  • Thank you for doing this tutorial!

  • Once again Wayne, you have come through with your knowledge!! I am a small petite women, and I was always concerned that the dark shadows would "swallow" me up. The look turns out beautiful on me---my compliments are never ending to you!!!

  • I'm with Imhfin... please do vids for those of us in our 50's. I not only have a hooded eye but my double eyelid situation is murder. It actually sits on my lashes!!. I'll watch this vid again a couple of times, but any help is appreciated!!! Thanks for your help...

  • Great tips for applying eye makeup! I heard about you from your rave reviews on MUA. Would love to see more videos for women in their 40's-I'm 42. Thanks!

  • You are sooo handsome, so sexy

  • I'm a wide-eyed Filipino woman, from the brown, Southeast Asian race. In this tutorial, you were teaching mostly about close-set eyes, and even if there's not much about wide-eyed people, doing the opposite will just teach me the same, helpful tricks. Thanks and I hope you continue sharing valuable information like this :)

  • What a great "basic" /"classic" eye. I have always wanted to lear contouring as I know that is really the key to good makeup. What a great "trick" with the eyeliner! I think I will invest in some good make-up and brushes!

    Thanks for the great post

  • its seems complicated

  • Thank You! What if you have hooded AND close set eyes? *sigh*

P.S. You have the most calming and soothing voice.

  • Thanks for the eyeliner tip! I'm an older woman and when I wear eyeliner it just makes me look so harsh. I'm going to try that technique next time I put on my makeup!

  • This is all very exciting. I am 40 and I am just starting to discover make up. I never really needed it before. But its beautiful!

  • Great video. Can you do more "mature" videos?

    Thanks

  • There are also down turned eyes, hooded eyes, protuding eyes etc, usually one person has a mix of some of all these !

  • Is an almond shaped eye a wideset or closed set eye- what determines this. How does one know which they have?

I absolutely love this video- I'm like the 1st comment on this video- I have not worn eyeshadow in years- I felt it sinks into the age lines- I need brushes- What # is a lay down brush?

  • The shape of the eye ( almond, oval or round ) have nothing to do with the physical placement of it ( wide set, deep set, close set etc ) so your eyes are either almond, round or oval, AND either wide set, close set or " ideally set " so to speak, meaning the space between your inner eye corners is approximately the measurement of one eye !

  • Thank you so much for posting a tutorial for us *ahem* mature women. Neon eyes and rainbow colors are just not me so it is a pleasure to watch something that is my style. Keep up the good work, you are fantastic!

  • Hi - I cannot use red based browns they make my eyes look very irritated and red, any alternative to Embark ?

    Thanks

  • My mature eyes thank you!

  • Great! Thank you! Definitly going to try this out at my mum :)

  • excellent!!!

  • Totally fantastic. I cannot wait to try this. You're making the "middle ages" much more comfortable. Thank you.

  • Wayne,

You have no idea how much I appreciate your help for us old bags.

I love trying this and having it actually work for me!

    You're a good egg. :)

  • Thankyou thankyou thankyou. I haven't worn eyeshadow for 10 years because I just didn't how to use it now that my eyes have changed with age. Absolutely brilliant.

  • It really does define the eyes a lot and it's very subtle!! Excellent tutorial, as usual!

  • Why the gay comment? quit it.

  • @fuzzyducky2 no, that was you. who cares what his sexuality is? you do realise that most homophobes are closet gays don't you? probably about time you figured out what your own sexuality is & stop posting ridiculous comments to people on YouTube who actually do & say something constructive. no-one cares what you have to say .. go back & crawl under your rock little boy.

  • Thank you for this tutorial! Please, more tips for mature people. I love your wink, too cute!!!!

  • Hey Wayne - another GREAT video! It turned out great, however I'm not crazy about the Malt shade which I've had in my makeup kit forever. It's a bit too orange for my skintone - do you have another MAC suggestion for a cooler skintone? I also tried Omega which looks too yellow. Thanks!

  • u r amazing!!!!!!!!

  • outinapout, I can get mine spotless (both natural and synthetic brushes) by using sards wonder soap. I don't know where else it's available but you can get it absolutely all over Australia.

  • your white goat brushes are spotless- which brush cleaner do you use? Mine are stained even after I deep clean them!

  • Any tips for getting the gel liner used on the top waterline 'underneath' the top lashes to set and not smudge? Thanks x

  • I love when you wink..and I am a 40 year Cosmo Hairstylist turned Registered Nurse..love your make up techniques..where were you 30 years ago when I could have really used you?? :)

    hugs from rhode island.

  • The side of your face with makeup looks like having a nice face lift. I tried your method yesterday and I looked more awake & sharp than usual. Thank you for the great tips!! Your method does make sense to me.

  • Thank you so VERY much for this video! I learned a lot from this. I have somewhat hooded eyes and was messing up the darker outside part for a loooong time - you fixed it! I'm so grateful!

  • excellent xx

  • I subscribed! I am going to turn 50 in October and just started wearing makeup last year, Your videos are amazing for someone who has a lot to learn!!! Not to mention.. you are great to look at while learning how to look great! Luv ya!

  • amazing!, this is WONDERFUL. He should have his own beauty school

  • For heavens sake, man... You just keep getting better and better! I learn so much from your videos, and truly appreciate addressing "mature" issues.

My problem is that I have to pause/replay constantly whenever you do that cute eyebrow raise/smirk that you do! And one of my favorite things you say is "right the way up". That's so cute!

  • I love you, your wink and your very helpful tips! ;)

  • Beautiful Wayne, thank you so much. You are the greatest.

  • as always you are so right, i have hooded eyes...and after trying to figure what works best on my eyes when it comes to make up application is exactly the techniques you are teaching..you are the best!

  • What a treat to see another video for mature eyes. Just beautiful! Will try the upper lid waterline technique for sure. Just this week, my best friend told me my makeup looks great! Thanks so much! xoxo

  • I love you xxxxx

  • Wayne! Thank you so much! Once again you've taught me loads. While I'm only 42 and didn't think a video labled "Mature" eyes would fit for me, the tips on contouring were wonderful. Also, I don't care for a big think line of black eyeliner - so the liner tips were priceless. Thank you so much! I always learn something new on your channel. Much appreciated!

  • Great video!

  • Hi, Wayne, thanks for this video for "hooded eyes". I must say, I am going to have to practice with this one. Celebrating my birthday on Saturday, so I want to apply what I will be perfecting here. Thanks again
