Actually, I think the first time Kyle drove was during the second season when he was saving Tom Foss from being killed by a Zzyzxx gunman near the complex in the woods. It was the first time Foss started to tell Kyle about his past.

well idk he drove declan's car when he first went to zzyzxx(if that's how u spell it). I guess they didn't find it important to put in his driving lessons. Or maybe he saw the other tragers driving and learned it just like that
