This film wasn't completely overlooked at the oscars, it was nominated for two oscars, one of which was for best supporting actress for Ruby Dee's performance, which basically means she outshined every other actor in the film. I'm glad she was the only one who was recognized, she is a far better actor than anyone else in the film anyway. Everyone else in the film is fucking overrated.

It's a good film, but this trailer's misleading. It's not an epic film at all. It's actually quite intimate, with a small group of police, both good and bad, tightening their net around Lucas, and him trying to balance his normal working day with the Blacks and Italians, along with his family life.
