lol me and my friend were playing backyard paintball, and me and him are having a "twitch fight" and one of our balls collided in mid air and exploted , amazing to see its like a pancake flat in the air vertical but made of paint
once i was playing at camp pendleton paintball, their tourny park, and i was right, laning to the back left, my friend was on the left, shooting at the snake, my paint colided with his paint and made a nice soup in the air for a couple secs, it was hilarious
Actually it does happen when your shooting at a guy in back left quaderant of the field there is a guy in the back right quaderant of the field and you can try to do this in the 50 area of the field
slightly off-topic: I had only 2 awesome hits in my life (both by luck and completely unintended).
1. Playing soccer in school I kicked the ball from over 20 meter distance in a basketball basket.
2. Playing pool / billiard years later I let the ball jump over a group of balls to hit a ball behind them. I hit the ball strange somehow, it FLEW over to the side and fell into a hole. Too bad no one was recording this 'cause WE HAD A CAMERA WITH US.
I wouldn't argue that it's a completely useless skill, it does help you learn how to track a small moving target. But pretty much any other drill that you can do would work just as well if not better.
Plus it's a great way to weasel a beer or two from gullible ballers. And that's always useful.
This happened to me 1 time in 11 years of playing, it was actually in a one on one game of pump vs my brother, and we both snap shot and they hit eachother almost exactly in the center between my self and him.
Let me emphasize it was completly unintentional, and we couldn't do it again if we tried (with pumps) but it was very awesome none the less!
Wouldn't have effected any part of the game neither shot would have eliminated us, it was just very very cool to experience!
It's more fun when you do it with a pump, and pump the gun after you toss the ball up...
If people think highly of pumpers, they go ballistic if you can do this!
But it's just, as Tyger put it, a neat party trick and if you actually practice it enough to nail it on every try, then you better be damn good at doing every other skill paintball requires...
Its also fun if your doing it to a 12ie that you just switched out. (that is if you pick it up afterwards. *wink*)
I would be impressed if someone could toss the 12ie out of the bucket changer, load the new 12ie, pump, and shoot the old 12ie before it hits the ground.
Challenge accepted. I might be able to do this, as I can change in under 5 seconds. If I get a flight time of about 3 seconds on the 12ie it just might be possible... Might have to pump it before hand, though.
I'll be playing this Saturday, if I use my Ghost and have some extra paint I'll try it and video-tape it. I'll post it as a video response here if I can.
I will probably end up trying it as well with my Phantom. That is if I remember to do it, the only bad problem is you only get one shot at doing the whole thing right.
Yeah, I'll probablty try it between games when I need to re-air. But that will be if I'm playing with the Ghost and even then I'd more likely run 4oz in this weather.
I'll be most likely out with my T2 for the first time. I'll keep it in mind, though.

I actually have shot an enemy paintball with one of my paintballs during a gun battle. It was a pretty cool thing to see lol.
