  • Very good ,,the musicians are very talented , it is amazing song,,lovly love song,,If you here this in Chinese it sounds better, but it is very hard to duplicate the mystic voice of a Chinese singer,,very good ,,iM AMAZED THAT MY CULTURE HAS REACHED western folk..

  • Just listening to this brings me back to my childhood! Both of my favorite styles, Chinese folk and Bluegrass, put together; what an exotic combination. Abigail used the wrong lyrics though: at 4:19, she sang the verses that normally would be sung by boys and not girls; it should've been "世间溜溜的'女子',任'我'..." I love Abigail though and I love how she did this Chinese classic. What great talent, her and the quartet!

  • Back when Casey's hair was tamed. Great song, though!

  • Please make this excellent video available to mobile viewing (e.g., on Android phones).

  • AbiWa! Is that calfskin? Do you condition it? IF so, with what?

  • This is great---just when you thought you had seen everything someone starts singing Appalachian tunes in Mandarin....

    Two thumbs up!

  • @sanjuancb Well, it's not really Appalachian but a Traditional Chinese folk song that's been rearranged into a banjo piece. The main melody and the lyrics are exactly the same. The song is from the Kang Ding area in Sichuan (remember the earth quake?) That is an mountainous region with the hills just rolls on and on like the Appalachian. One of their tradition is for guys to sing to the girl of their desire thus many well know folk songs are from the area...

  • @willyu34 Thanks for the clarification. It still strikes my fancy and I think that is quite charming regardless!
