@TheUnworthy Actually, eating a lot of candied apples will make you sick. I think this is like the 30th time I've heard this song and I'm still lovin it.
@lilwil132 i dont exactly know... i tried to watch this on mobile youtube, and it said "the owner of this content has not made this video available for mobile youtube". so i figured id ask you if you could do that for me.
Just think, it took a movie to introduce a lot of people to this style of music. Thank God I was listening to this all along. Most other music pales in comparison.
After watching Oh Brother Where Art Thou, I began to really look further into the minds of people during this time. Blues has become a big part of music life and I am proud to say that. Blues is one of the one forms of music with the most meaning and emotion. Since blues developed in the Depression days, there is a lot of influence in the music. I wish I could feel the passion like they did and be able to express it through such wonderful music. If anyone has any further thoughts reply to this:)
@yangdjinn13 i am glad I'm not the only one who saw that movie and thought to myself.."hey this song is very awesome...i wanna seek out more" thumbs up to you sir... you and me both on that note about the movie and wanting more music from him and similar artists. just had to laugh to myself that someone else thought the same thing .
@yangdjinn13 Read alot of Langston Hughes's work. He wrote a poem called "The Weary Blues" which I am in the process of writing an analysis on. His work buries its roots deep in Harlem and can show you exactly what it was like for the black community. Remember that in order to play the blues, you don't need to feel the pain of their time, but of your own. Blues is all about connecting with the music and letting it scream the anguish and pain you are feeling. It's very healthy for the soul.
@scooma1 20,000 still is still nothing compared to what it should be. I'm 19 and am personally upset with how my peers choose their musical catalog. Of course, there are still tons of kids who ACTUALLY know how to appreciate good music, but it isn't enough if you ask me.
Drive through Michigan's Upper Peninsula (the most deserted highways you can find) with this song playing on repeat.. you'll never forget the experience, I promise you. I won't. There's a desolation to the deserted miles and miles which complements this piece so well..
this is the absolute best version of this song, (Skip James did wonders, im just waiting for someone to clean up the audio, in my ears the static negates all sounds and thats all i hear unfortunately, but its medical not me being a dick)
also never leave this on repeat while on a 5-8 mile run down dirt roads, its indescribable
at 2:16 is that RL Burnside (R.I.P.) ?
