Wow amazing, that is such a wonderful sight. Bobby must be proud that his son has his own style and they can come together and fuse with such a great harmony. No I can't imagine what nightime lullabys must have been like but I can say that uniqueness brings about uniqueness in your children. Keep up the good works Bobby McFerrin and Family
@MaxSabba Well I think the real difference here is not having fun or not, although Bobby makes erybody smile in seconds, he's contagious. It's just a question of being gifted, being unique. The music flows through him, it's easy for Bobby; Taylor must concentrate to get to that level of performance.
Wondrous coverage of beautiful Father and Son, creating, in their element...Notice how both their levels of concentration are obvious in their eyes...They seem to be in another world...Just Fabulous!!!
It is beautiful to know that the language of music can become a tradition in a household without instruments or computers just the body and soul...as Coleman Hawkins might have put it!
I want more of Bobby's dad, Robert McFerrin Sr.. These two are very talented of course, but Robert Sr. is in a class of his own. The great musical genes were certainly passed from him!.
Yup it's scatting, aka improvising vocals. The individual "words" are called scatting syllables. Beatboxing in jazz is aka Vocal Percussion. There's a whole theory surrounding the notation of it, but luckily I've never had to write it. It's based on the solfege syllables I'd imagine (do re mi fah sol la ti do).
all u guys who commented negatively to this...just got 1 question for all of u!!! "...can u do better?" In my opinion, these father & son team are one-of-a-kind!!! Im sure only a few individuals can do these kind-o-stuff!!
@tastenschwein1991 they do, it's just Taylor has a funky style, likened to the percussion style of Timabland, or ?uestlove of the Roots, where it follows the same tempo, but has a lot of different runs/skiffs/idk what to call it...it's not your average beatboxing, more like actually imitating what he probably would have done on an actual drum set, which probably would have rocked, lol Peace
@tastenschwein1991 that's probably due to this being a complete improvisation. Considering that none of that was predetermined, I think they were very well synced.
I wish Bobby was my dad.

bummer that they do not fit rhythmically all the time.
