  • If you get some Air Tite coin capsules and that way you can look at them with out gloves or scratching them. You have a great piece of American history. Thanks for the video.

  • don't touch the gold coins with your bear hands

i want sale my liberty coin 1799

email me for the best price

  • where do you buy (get) your coins?

  • Am i dreaming or did he just grab each coin with his hands, drag it and drop them with his hands?!?

  • can i buy any of them

  • it hurts to see him handle them that way, don't touch a gold coin with your hands or drag it around a table!

  • @olebrent thank you, he should either have thoes in slabs or he should be wearing gloves

  • Too bad you keep scratching them trying to pick them up.

  • Where is your $3 Gold Coin? The type set is complete, when you have all of yours above, plus the $3.00 piece, which you lack!Pick up a $3 Princess and then you'll have a complete set!

  • Very nice collection. There is a lot of history in them. I especially like the St. Gauden's double eagle. I guess many of you didn't even know that "eagle" used to be a monetary unit in the US. It was exactly 10 dollars. So, double eagle was naturally 20 dollars.

The "Liberty head" design of that coin sucks, doesn't it? Fortunately a real artist made the final design of the coin (1907 - 1933).

  • Wouldn't the $3.00 gold piece, as well as the $4.00 Stella's (Presentation pieces) be included in this Type Set? I once had a $3.00 gold piece but had to sell it when economic times got too rough. Great video! Thank you for sharing it.

  • JBL is on the base of Libertys neck on the twenty dollar gold.

  • The amount of incorrect comments on this amazes me.

  • Why Do You Touch Your Coins So Much? You Know There Grade Decreases By Alot Once Touched Like That. You Should Wear 100% Cotton Gloves If Your Going To Touch Them So Much.

  • pretty nice video.great collection

  • I'd give some thought to having the collection certified through PCGS. It would greatly increase the numismatic value and protect them from any further damage.

  • Thank's

  • are those heavy at all? gold weighs twice as muchas silver you now

  • They are quite heavy for a coin. Nearly an ounce of gold has some nice heft and feels good in the palm of your hand. It is no doubt, real money. Not the fiat crap we use now.

  • @robmarlowe lol feels good in the palm of your hand, i bet your holding almost $1500 i would think that feels pretty good.

  • @robmarlowe you dont honestly think the us mint should mint silver/gold coins for circulation do you?

  • @gtfan7676 Title 12 United States Code Section 152 says: "The terms lawful money or lawful money of the United States shall be construed to mean gold or silver coin of the United Sates."

  • @robmarlowe might just be the dumbest comment ive seen today. You cant honestly say you think gold or silver should be used as currency today do you?

  • @bird33mchale32 The framers of the Constitution specified a money system of gold and silver, to be coined and regulated in value by Congress and prohibited by the government from issuing paper money as stated in Article 1 sections 8 and 10 of the Constitution: "Congress shall have Power to coin money and regulate the value thereof. No State shall make any thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts.

  • @ITILII You wasted your time making that long comment. Silver and Gold are WAY to high to be used as everyday currency.

  • you should get them graded.

  • very nice collection. i have many of the same coins. I would recommend getting cases for them though. And it looks like you have made quite a profit there. 800 bucks profit per oz without premium. not too shabby :)

  • Clip those nails.

  • these aren't just plain old gold bullion clins you're playing with. They're worth far more than their gold content -and, weight, mint mark, and CONDITION all have a huge influence on how much each coin is worth.

  • but can they still be sold for there gold value if the condition became crappy?

  • yeah, but the condition always brings a premium because it's not just a boullion coin, but an antique piece of history.

Besides, the gold-content of these coins are somewhat less than the gold content of boullion coins. The condition of boullion coins don't matter, generally, and if you only care about gold content, boullion is what you want.

  • i want what ever is a better investment.

and wont loose me money :P

  • Comment removed

  • I disagree. Right now I feel that 90% silver coins are the better buy. Specifically, Roosevelt dimes and Washington Quarters. Silver Eagles are sold at a premium because of the cost of minting and distributing them. Now the real question is whether gold and silver is a good buy now for the long term. My thoughts are that it is not a good buy at this point in time. I would stick with real estate if I had the money. I'm not an investor and this advice is from a layman.

  • But of course, use your own judgement and don't take my word for anything. I'd suggest some research on the subject.

  • You are correct. I took these coins out of my collection to make the video. They are currently residing in a Dansco album. None of these coins were scratched in the making of this video.

  • you need to put these in a holder (slab them) so they don't get tarnished and scratched. Nice collection.

  • gold doesn't tarnish

  • very nice collection!! I have a few gold coins myself also got them in the dansco gold page and put the page in my morgan silver dollar album with slip case

    so that it don't tone

  • Gold doesn't tone. They can grow copper spots though. This is because older US gold coins are alloyed with copper.

  • stupid camera man

  • well done

  • I squirmed whenever you turn your coins and scratch them against the board. That will leave some scratches or dents, lower the grade of the coin and damage its eye appeal. Please be careful next time when handling them. If you just consider them as merely bullion gold coins, that's another story....

  • Please spare me a heart attack, and slab your coins. PLEASE!!!!!!

  • If you read the discription, he said that they're housed in a dansco album. He took them out just to show us all...

  • Oh ok, most of the time I don't read the description, but I guess I should now. Thank you!!!!

  • very nice!!!! im working on a type set now myself. but please ... PLEASE ...PLEASSSSSSSEEEEEE .... WEAR COTTON GLOVES OR SOMETHING! it hurts me to see those precious coins being handled with bare hands. THANKS so much ... : )

  • Always use white cotton gloves to handle precious metals. Especially old ones.

  • Precious metal coins I mean.

  • @MrBankRuns use white cotton gloves to handle ALL coins which may be of value, very basic

  • Very nice set! I don't have any gold coins myself but I'm saving up for a Liberty Head $10 Gold piece in AU55 or better (Whatever I can afford)

By the way.....you should be more careful when you handle your coins......maybe wear cotton gloves?

  • Very nice collection. I have a complete 12 coin set myself with the type 2 gold dollar and the 3 dollar gold piece, but most of my coins are not uncirculated like yours. I don't mean to be nosy or rude, but just out of curiosity, have you thought about completing your type set? I noticed in another one of your videos you have a High-Relief double eagle that must be worth about $20,000. A type 2 gold dollar and 3 dollar gold piece in au condition would only set you back about another $3000.

  • Really cool gold type set! I'm thinking of investing in gold myself, and buying a Liberty Head Half Eagle.

  • Thought about the tyoe II and $3 but they have sky rocketed since I put my set together. I put my set together when prices were reasonable. If I had to do it now, I probably couldn't afford it. It probably the main reason I haven't completed the 12 piece set yet.

  • You have a nice coin collection. I love it. I collect toned silver coins mostly but have a nice gold collection as well. Very nice, keep them videos coming.

  • OOH these are nice! I have a 1902 s mint 1/4 ounce liberty head. I love those old liberty heads.

  • Why do you handle you coins like that?

  • enjoyed it very much. thanks for showing them.

  • hehe nice set but clumsy hands xD

  • mmm.. those coin shouldn't even be touched by hands. are these coins AU quality? they look really good. also do you have a 20 gold coin with the CC mint mark? those are so rare and hard to find

  • Actually, all are uncirculated except for the $5 Indian. I do not have a CC marked $20. They cost too much money for me.

  • oh wow all MS-60 and up thats pretty good! yeah i saw a 20 cc at a coin shop for 3000 dollars it was a XF-45..... there quite pricey.

  • i Cleaned a $1 coin with ketchup and now its like the color of copper? does it worth anything now? After being cleaned by ketchup

  • Cleaning coins is usually bad. The acid from the ketchup will clean a coin and most cleaning is considered damage. I don't know the date and mint of your dollar so I can't tell you if it is worth anything. PLEASE DO NOT CLEAN YOUR COINS!!!

  • what about "shoe shining" with like a cloth just to wipe the dust off

  • just don't clean your coins

  • HOW MUCH THEY COAST

  • very nice.

  • Great set!

  • Nice collection and video. Thanks for posting.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!

  • The smallest coin ever made in the USA is a half dime I have one I would know

  • I also have a half dime. The smallest half dime was 15.5mm in diameter whereas the smallest silver three cent piece is 14.3mm in diameter.

  • I also have a three cent piece to

  • WONDERFUL wonderful collection, and investment!

  • OMFG NICE! i only got indian head 2 1/2 and 5 dollar

  • I very well may have seen you at the Baltimore Show! I was there for the unveiling on July 30th.

Yes, I ordered one within the first half hour the first day. But there are snafus at the Mint. It should be shipping any day now. We'll see.

  • Thank you. That's what I thought. The Coin guy on HSN MIke MIziak or whatever his name is said that the New Hampshire State Quarter was sunken relief, or as he put it "incused designed" and I wondered what he was smoking. Thanks for the info.

Again, great video. Have you ordered the 2009 Ultra HIgh Relief St. Gaundins $20 yet?

  • Far as I know the New Hampshire quarter is a normal relief. The home shopping guys do get facts wrong many times. This may be one of them.

I did order the '09 high relief but it's on backorder until March. :-( I saw them at the Baltimore Show and they are awesome! Did you order one?

  • Hello. I enjoyed your video. Thanks for posting this. I have a question. Are the only two coins the US Mint with produced with Sunken relief the two coins you showed (The 2.50 and 5 dollar Eagles) Or are you referring to the design its self? If you are, do you know what the other design is?

Thank you again. Now, I'm off to watch you shoot that MAC-10 :)

  • Yes, the two coins I showed: The $2-1/2 Indian and the $5 Indian are the only coins the US Mint ever made of the sunken relief type. If you want a US Mint sunken relief type you would have to buy one of these two coins.

  • Is NOT the smallest ever minted coin the UNITED STATES ever made. Get your facts straight dude!!!

  • Okay, then why don't you share with us the smallest US coin ever made if you know the facts.

  • Don't be so damn lazy and look it up yourself. If your going to try and be a know it all at least get your facts straight. Your the kind of person who ruins it for everyone else, a know it all who is dumber then a pile of rocks. Well one thing is for sure, you like to hear yourself talk I guess? Dumb ass!!!!

  • Fact is that you are just trying to start crap. You could have easily answered my question but instead you want to be nasty. I will not stoop to your level and will say with confidence that the Type 1 gold dollar is the smallest coin ever made by the US government. The silver three cent piece was the smallest silver coin ever minted but is larger than the Type 1 gold dollar. Now if you have anything good for the discussion I am interested. If you are going to be a butt-head it will be deleted.

  • can i buy the 5 or 10 1?

  • Sorry, my collection is not for sale.

  • i have a twenty dollar coin 1891 i just found at my granmas house on oahu good start to a new year.and 7 oz of silver dollars.aurai.

  • Why so you can snitch on me?

  • i would by a huge safe for them.

  • my dad and i collect indian head 10 dollar pieces. we have all the common dates(not each mintmark though). And 3 mint state 63 saint gaudens 20 dollar pieces

  • Perfect collection!!!!!

  • nice set man worth alot of money

  • all of your coin sets are sooo cool because you always have the key dates and high grade sets!

  • should you not seal it in a case? i notice their collectibles by the dates.

  • These coins are usually held in a Dansco album. I took them out to film the video for you all. It was also the first and only time I have ever touched these coins with my hands.

  • That is so cool man I am just starting to collect gold coins its so amazing like dont know why just love em lol!

  • Honestly who doesn't like gold coin !!! LOL, i just started few weeks ago, got my 1st gold coin and i'm in love with it ^^

  • This probably the only good coin collection on youtube

  • my double eagle coin is SO BIG so.... is it any different???

  • very nice collection Ilove coins and I REALLY LOVE GOLD

  • Hi all,

NO! I disagree! You SHOULD hold your gold coins once in a while- It reminds you what REAL money feels like- AND, unless the coins are already in plastic slabs, you will NEVER get a premium price for them- just try it with Joe 6 Pack- so, handle away!!

  • reading these comments... geez... not going to offend you "nohikuid"

  • Albums are not the best protection, I would not handle or slide gold coins around as they can get wear even from paper. I would suggest putting them in 2x2s or even air tite holders or better yet, Eagle holders.

  • What year did you acquire these?

  • These were purchased around 2001-2004.

  • Do you know why they call it "Double Eagle" when it has only one eagle???

  • Yes, a double eagle is a $20 coin. Back in the early days of the U.S. Mint they didn't have the $20 denomination. The largest was the $10 coin and it was called an Eagle. When the $20 denomination was made it naturally was called the double eagle. Double the value of the $10 Eagle. There is also a half eagle $5 coin and a quarter eagle $2-1/2 coin.

  • That explains why! Thank you

Btw, they call the same 'Double Eagle' to $50coin as well.

    I do have 1853/61 $1, '13/$2.5 Indian, '08/Saint Gauden(unmodified), and some bullion coins.

Do you know what the '53/61 $1 would be worth of?

Another qstion: How did ancient ppl use the precious metal coins in circulation?

Let's say, if you had a good for $8 silver and I wanted to buy it, but I only had gold coins. How would the deal work?

  • If you give me the grade I can try and look up the price in the "Grey Sheet."

Not sure about the ancients. I do know some people cut coins in half, quarters, and eighths to make change. I think the ancient people mostly used a barter system. Just speculation on my part. It seems as though the ancient people were pretty concentrated together and I'm sure someone would have made change for them. Once again, just speculation on my part.

  • They are not graded, but with my knowledge the 1853 will fall in AU58 to MS61.

1861 will be MS62 or better, and 1913 Quarter Eagle MS64 or better.

How about 2007 1oz Maple leaf? It is different from all the Maples

  • Not sure but I would assume the 2007 Maple Leaf is a common date and only worth bullion value although foreign coins are not my expertise.

  • Could you tell me how much 1 oz is in grams and how much it's worth? Been wondering that for a while :P Nice coins btw, here in the netherlands you can only collect coins that are between 1.25 and 13.44 grams gold. So such big gold coins are kinda new to me :P

  • I'm not exactly sure because I don't know if the gold is weighed in troy ounces or ounces but here is the info I could find: 1 ounce = 28.3495231 grams and 1 troy ounce = 31.1034768 grams. An ounce of gold is worth $878.40. Hope this helps.

  • thanks! :p

  • yeah i got 2 taiwanese gold coins and one weighs 4 ounces and the larger one weighs 8 ounces

  • Comment removed

  • stop puttin ur greasy hand on em idiot!!!!!!!!

    can i buy some???

  • Normally these coins are enclosed in a Dansco album. I only took them out to show you all. It is perfectly acceptable to hold a coin on its edge.

If you would like to buy some gold coins go to a coin show or a coin shop. There should be one somewhere near you.

  • i only buy graded after recieveing a fake...

  • wtf, dont touch them, damn

  • i like em

  • This is like, coin porn.

  • haha

  • put them in an plastic desplay case.
