@SaintsxHyperrr because he just jumped straight up! i swear the nba is turning into a bunch of pussies. if this was called in the 70's through early 90's the ref woulda got punched in the face. it isnt a flagrant cause griffin jumped straight up to block it and horford jumped into him. its just a colision. definitely not a flagrant, just a hard foul
@Jheet20 Are you retarded? Seriously. I'm a huge Clippers and Blake fan but this was CLEARLY a good call. He went straight up??? ARE YOU JOKING? LOL. Blake literally RUNS forward and THEN jump in motion. His ARMS are a straight up, yes ... but he didnt jump straight up. He jumped forward right into Horford hence him going flying.. smh. You have VERY VERY bad eyesight if you think he jumps straight up. I love Blake but he most certainly did not jump straight up.
@Jheet20 Blake is almost on the complete opposite side of the rim when he jumps.. then he hits Horford on the other side? How is that possible jumping straight up? lmao. You can see his body motion going WAY forward right into Horford. Even if it wasnt a flagrant the fact that you claim he jumps straight up is just idiotic. lmao.
THE ATLANTA HAWKS WON 101-100, it was a bad call, the refs gave the game to atlanta, and with the flagrant foul the clippers didnt even get a chance to take a last shot, end of story, the clipps got screwed
It was a flagrant because it put the the extended player's body in serious jeapordy. Whether or not it was intentional doesn't matter. Griffin fouled him with a lot of contact while he was up exposed. End of discussion
@pimpsoldier0 no you retard. flagrants are only called if you go for the body not for the ball this was OBVIOUSLY an attempt at the ball. A flagrant would be if he lowered his shoulder or something.
seriously..jumps straight up, hands straight up, good hard foul to not give up the game winning basket..thats just a great basketball play all the way around. this is exactly whats wrong with the nba nowadays..the refs have way too much control over the game
@trizzy2168 its basketball fool, just cause al horford beat his defender you think blake should let him get an easy bucke at the end of a game...for the win
outsidethenba, wow that is sickkk. this is directly from a guy who s 5 5 but do windmill dunks. I used the vertical leap training program over at 50-inch-vertical[dot]com and gained over 15 ins on my vertical.
FUCK IS YALL LOOKIN AT!!! "NOT A FLAGRANT"?!?! @ 1:06 Horford is in the air then all of a sudden out of no where Griffin comes to "try" to defend him from making the basket but makes contact with all while in the air then comes down on him! .....U CAN'T CALL A FOUL A "HARD FOUL" IT'S EITHER A FOUL OR A FLAGRANT!..... DUMBASSES DON'T KNOW SHIT!
Hmm..... well isn't a "hard foul" a flagrant?!?!....Fuck outter here! Had it would've been the "EXACT" same play but Horford defending Blake yall asses wouldn't be bitchin that it wasn't a flagrant!
@jjt53 no, a hard foul is not in fact a flagrant.. a flagrant foul is when someone clearly plays the player instead of the ball, and the fact that griffin put his hands up shows he wasn't playing horford... if the same thing happened the other way around, i still wouldn't call it a flagrant.
@Skeetonmypete : LIKE I SAID BEFORE...Blake is NOT I repeat IS NOT going straight up...the nigga is leaning as he goes up with his hands up. HOW CAN YALL NOT SEE THAT!!!
@43 sec to 48 u can see that Al Horford pulls blake down and is holding blakes arm and i don"t even like blake griffin but i hate when people are so retarded and cant see that niggas hurt them selfs
Cmon r u fucking serious? if you look at 1:06 you'll see Blake asking Al if he's ok. It was just a bad collision blake tried to go with his hand up straight but hit Al Horford on the top of his body which made his feet go in front of him and made his back go straight to the floor. Flagrant foul? get the fuck outta here.
If I remember correctly, they called a flagrant on Griffin, but rescinded it later on. It should of been a flagrant, Horford actually got injured and was out for a couple of games.
it wasn't a flagrant nor was it a "hard" foul...Blake jumped straight up and Horfords momentum carried both of them to the floor....actually it shoulda been an offensive foul because Horford grabbed Blake's arm 0:44 ...just sayin
@mcgowa1 but Griffin jumped foward at him. thats why Horford grabbed him because he knew he was gonna fall, so he instinctively grabbed someone to try and catch his balance.
you guys are all idiots. This is NOT a flagrant foul. No shot at the head. Horford grabs griffins arm and brings him to the ground for added sell and got hurt himself. In the 90s this would just be another play. Fucking dumb nba generation nowadays. A slap to the face is considered a suspension and shit. Jordan got an elbow to face while on the ground and got nothing called.
please thats, a flagrant. griffin can jump high enough to easily block the shot but he doesnt even get close to blocking the shot, therefore it is considered a flagrant cuz griffin didnt even attempt to block the shot.
Horfords left arm was hooked around Griffins right arm as if to soften/help his landing somehow or bring Blake down with him. Check it. Blake was composed the whole time. But did hit up a good hard foul. Its ball boys. You dont let any mothafuck in your territory easy.
Anyone who thinks Griffn was going "straight up" is mistaken pause @ 1:05 No malicious intent mind you, but if you pause @ :47 you can clearly see Griffn's momentum dragging Horford to the ground.
@MrTruthClarity What you've said isn't quite true if you look at the dynamics. Griffin went straight up with both hands up in the air. If you've ever blocked any sort of shot like this then you would know you're definitely not going to be coming down with your hands still up in the air. Whether your next argument is saying he forced him down more then he should have or not I'd say I don't think he did. Matter of opinion. Also Horfords left arm was hooked around Griffins right as they went down.
So jumping from one side of the circle to hit Horford on the other side of the rim is straight up? You people aren't blind, you're just fuckin retarded.
Griffin is completely overrated, the guy has no fundamentals, and he makes his team worse, they rely on throwing him alleyoops, and they fail more often then they work, they just don't show them on highlights..
he did hit him really hard but you can tell blake was trying to go for the block, people would argue this either way no matter what the call woulda been
Either way, you can tell Griffin was trying to go for the block even if he was leaning forward a little bit. If he was actually trying to hurt Horford, he would have his hands forward trying to knock him down. It's just the way Horford landed that made it look worse than it really is.
@chosans You have to be real special to believe that. Most people swing with one hand when going for the ball. Not purposely launch yourself and someone in mid-air with just 2 hands up.
@chosans regardless of whether Griffin was Trying to hurt Al or not, that was just a really Dumb play by Griffin, I don't think he meant to hurt Al but he wasn't thinking straight at that Moment, First of all that should have been a Flagrant 2 not a 1 and second of all, you just don't throw yourself at an player once he's 2 meters off the ground, even if that Means that you'll lose they game simply because Once a player is that high, trying to stop him is basically putting his life in jeopardy
that wasn't intentionality at all! yeah Blake did not go straight up but its not like meant for that to happen. Horford was holding on to blake on the way down so it was just a freak accident. Its in mid air you cant determine the out come of that...its all free fall at that moment.
I say everyone playing out there knew, if they were gonna try to dunk win it, Blake was gonna plow them down to his best ability, Horford must have seen exactly how this would happen taken the gamble of getting hurt and making sure he'd get the flagrant foul to give the hawks a win. griffin shoulda just waited down the court to hope for a last second full court alley oop haha
me and dwayne wade got fouled the same exact way by dwight howard and he came back in 10 minutes, plus these teams both suck ass..SO WHO THE FUCK CARES
how is that a flagrant foul you idiots, he's clearly going for the ball, you see flagrant fouls all the time in the NBA where people are grabbing at people's heads in the air, you idiots need to learn the rules before talkin
GOOOD JOB HAWKS and thank the CLIPPERS for missing 10 of their free throws that night!....It all goes down to THE FREE THROWS <-----That is how we (Hawks) won!=)...But I thought Horford was down for the count after that WWE move! lol
um if anything its a flagrant on horford..griffin jumped up with BOTH hands straight in the air and horford grabbed onto one of griffins arms and pulled them both down
If Foye was the one who hit it.. the ball wouldn't of ricocheted at the angle it did. It's only possibly scientifically that it went off Joe Johnson's leg based on the trajectory of the ball. Then again refs aren't always exactly intelligent.
@sixesandsevensus you can see griffin immediately reaching out to horford cause he knows dude is hurt. no malicious intent. just a bad defensive play. NOT a flagrant.
I hope this isn't a career ending injury for Al. I do not want to see another potential career flushed down the toilet due to injury. Reminds me of T-Mac
You all are some dumbasses... if this wasn't a flagrant I don't know what is... Blake jumped in the air and denied Horford to the basket BY fouling him... If a 6'11 Center is coming at you full speed and you jump up and attempt to "block" it?? Blake wasnt going for the block, he was going for the foul, and by performing a hard personal foul in mid air is a flagrant... so get your pantyhose straight because the Hawks NEVER get calls... so stfu "clippers" fans, who werent even fans before thisyear
@camel595 never thought i'd see the day when people would think a clippers fan jumped a bandwagon. real clippers fans represent everything that is not a bandwagon or fairweather. bandwagon fans woudn't care about this play or care that much when we lost.
The league rescinded the flagrant call when the game was over anyway because it was wrong. That wasn't even the biggest play that screwed us though it was the out of bounds play before the jump ball and even Hawks TV said the ball was off JJ
@woodpeckers11 ok so because Dominique WIlkins, who has no idea what he's talking about when he announces, means that it went off of Joe? I looked at it too and you truly couldn't tell who it went off of... so the clear decision would be jump ball, not at half court, but near where it went out of bounds. Regardless of whether or not it would be a flagrant, there were 0.6 seconds left, game was over. Stop talking about the cheating refs, as we Hawks fans know the refs NEVER cheat for us.
@camel595 I didn't say the refs cheated I said they got the call wrong from all intents and purposes. The ball bounced off Johnson, never switched direction, and went out of bounds. If the ball gets deflected again even slightly it will change direction, that's science. I agree that the game was basically over after the 2nd FT was made even though we would've advanced the ball to half court with a timeout and gotten a shot. I also don't buy the flagrant and clearly the league doesn't either.
The other announcer who I listened to all game.. (I was watching Hawks broadcast entire game) knew what he was talking about. He's actually one of the best I've listened to for the most part.... and he was the first to say "That looks like it was definitely off of Joe Johnson, let's hope the refs make a mistake"... and what do you know.. 10 seconds after reviewing... jump ball??? They didn't even review the play long enough. Like Woodpeckers said it's basic physics/science.
Section II-d If the ball goes out-of-bounds and was last touched simultaneously by two opponents, both of whom are inbounds or out-of-bounds, or if the official is in doubt as to who last touched the ba...(tharr be more)ll, or if the officials disagree, play shall be resumed by a jump ball between the two involved players in the nearest restraining circle.
So the refs did jump the ball in the right place.. but nonetheless the ball was off Joe Johnson and refs blew it
Then they wanna do the jump ball right next to the Hawks basket?????????? Talk about BS. They should of done the jump at half court if they wanted it to be a fair jump. The refs all put large bets on the Hawks to win that game for sure. They didn't think the Clippers without 2 of their best players could beat the Hawks on the road.
Btw guys... Ralph Lawler on Facebook posted that the league rescinded the flagrant foul (took it away from Blake) before the team bus even left the arena. Talk about clear bullshit call to rig the game. I'm not even mad about the flagrant. I'm more pissed about the messed up jumpball the play before with 4 seconds left. We blocked the shot and it CLEARLY went off Joe Johnson's leg... they used instant replay and still made bad call. Even Hawks announcers said it was off JJ.
what was blake to do? al left his man at the freethrow line...blake had positioning on al, blake jumped straight up, blake made a play on the ball, blake was outside the circle. if al was talking about hitting the game winner in the paint he better be ready to take some contact. al wasnt ready for the wall he ran into named blake and he took a bad fall. with all that said, props on making the freethrows.
@oden52hof it's because of people like you and refs who think like you, NBA has become soft. NBA being soft isn't fun at all. too many rules. it's fuckin basketball for christ sake. it's a body contact sport. let them play.
You guys are idiots. Al Horford was clearly fouled regardless of it was a flagrant or not. so he still wouldve hit 2 free throws and been up 1 with 0.6 left. regardless it was going to be a clipper loss. I bet you in the same situation if Blake griffin was on the offensive end and Horford did that you guy would right hate mail to Horford.
Hawks win good play by Horford..tough dude...Griffin rookie mistake.
@Sivarman Ball should have been jumped at half court thus when the foul happend it should have been imbounded at half court. When the ball went out of bounds no ref could decide who it went off of thus it should jumped up at a neutral spot (half court ) not next to the Hawks basket. Then the foul would have been at half court and that's where this play would have started.
As for the second part:
Griffin does not hook Al. He keeps his hand straight up and when he falls they go on al. No felg.
This is why he should get hurt going up high like that, fuckin show off.

@chosans Watch the clip again without Blake's dick in your mouth. 1:05 Is where Blake takes off. He doesn't touch Horford if he's going straight up.
TheNef77 1 year ago 2
@TheNef77
Either way, you can tell Griffin was trying to go for the block even if he was leaning forward a little bit. If he was actually trying to hurt Horford, he would have his hands forward trying to knock him down. It's just the way Horford landed that made it look worse than it really is.
chosans 1 year ago
@chosans You have to be real special to believe that. Most people swing with one hand when going for the ball. Not purposely launch yourself and someone in mid-air with just 2 hands up.
TheNef77 1 year ago
@chosans you have been owned sir.
camel595 1 year ago

K1ngstat 1 year ago
I say everyone playing out there knew, if they were gonna try to dunk win it, Blake was gonna plow them down to his best ability, Horford must have seen exactly how this would happen taken the gamble of getting hurt and making sure he'd get the flagrant foul to give the hawks a win. griffin shoulda just waited down the court to hope for a last second full court alley oop haha

GOOOD JOB HAWKS and thank the CLIPPERS for missing 10 of their free throws that night!....It all goes down to THE FREE THROWS <-----That is how we (Hawks) won!=)...But I thought Horford was down for the count after that WWE move! lol

xSayHiToTheBadGuyx 1 year ago
um if anything its a flagrant on horford..griffin jumped up with BOTH hands straight in the air and horford grabbed onto one of griffins arms and pulled them both down
omghahaxd 1 year ago
If Foye was the one who hit it.. the ball wouldn't of ricocheted at the angle it did. It's only possibly scientifically that it went off Joe Johnson's leg based on the trajectory of the ball. Then again refs aren't always exactly intelligent.
clippersfan2004 1 year ago
no no no. never a flagrant. bad collision but NEVER a flagrant.
sixesandsevensus 1 year ago 2
@sixesandsevensus you can see griffin immediately reaching out to horford cause he knows dude is hurt. no malicious intent. just a bad defensive play. NOT a flagrant.

I hope this isn't a career ending injury for Al. I do not want to see another potential career flushed down the toilet due to injury. Reminds me of T-Mac
MrAden24 1 year ago

That wasn't even the biggest play that screwed us though it was the out of bounds play before the jump ball and even Hawks TV said the ball was off JJ

woodpeckers11 1 year ago
@woodpeckers11 ok so because Dominique WIlkins, who has no idea what he's talking about when he announces, means that it went off of Joe? I looked at it too and you truly couldn't tell who it went off of... so the clear decision would be jump ball, not at half court, but near where it went out of bounds. Regardless of whether or not it would be a flagrant, there were 0.6 seconds left, game was over. Stop talking about the cheating refs, as we Hawks fans know the refs NEVER cheat for us.
camel595 1 year ago
@camel595 I didn't say the refs cheated I said they got the call wrong from all intents and purposes. The ball bounced off Johnson, never switched direction, and went out of bounds. If the ball gets deflected again even slightly it will change direction, that's science. I agree that the game was basically over after the 2nd FT was made even though we would've advanced the ball to half court with a timeout and gotten a shot. I also don't buy the flagrant and clearly the league doesn't either.
woodpeckers11 1 year ago
@camel595
Like Woodpeckers said it's basic physics/science.
clippersfan2004 1 year ago
Rule No. 8 - Out of Bounds
So the refs did jump the ball in the right place.. but nonetheless the ball was off Joe Johnson and refs blew it
clippersfan2004 1 year ago
Then they wanna do the jump ball right next to the Hawks basket?????????? Talk about BS. They should of done the jump at half court if they wanted it to be a fair jump. The refs all put large bets on the Hawks to win that game for sure. They didn't think the Clippers without 2 of their best players could beat the Hawks on the road.
clippersfan2004 1 year ago
@clippersfan2004 dude the ball went out of bounds on the clippers sideline lmfao you have no idea what youre talking about...
camel595 1 year ago
Even Hawks announcers said it was off JJ.

oden52hof 1 year ago 16
@oden52hof
what was blake to do? al left his man at the freethrow line...blake had positioning on al, blake jumped straight up, blake made a play on the ball, blake was outside the circle. if al was talking about hitting the game winner in the paint he better be ready to take some contact. al wasnt ready for the wall he ran into named blake and he took a bad fall. with all that said, props on making the freethrows.
MemphisBasketball 11 months ago
@oden52hof it's because of people like you and refs who think like you, NBA has become soft. NBA being soft isn't fun at all. too many rules. it's fuckin basketball for christ sake. it's a body contact sport. let them play.
myaimisme 11 months ago
You guys are idiots. Al Horford was clearly fouled regardless of it was a flagrant or not. so he still wouldve hit 2 free throws and been up 1 with 0.6 left. regardless it was going to be a clipper loss. I bet you in the same situation if Blake griffin was on the offensive end and Horford did that you guy would right hate mail to Horford.
Hawks win good play by Horford..tough dude...Griffin rookie mistake.
KobeGreaterThanMJ 1 year ago 3
it's a shooting foul whether or not it's a flagrant, and horford knocked down both free throws. hawks win either way.
officerbarbrady 1 year ago 2
Refs fucked Griffin over soooo bad on this one.
limosince2007 1 year ago
@winningfreak1 could you please tell me why the hawks should have had the ball at halfcourt??
marvin got fouled right after the jumpball, the clippers had a foul to give, so thats a normal throw- in for the hawks!!!?
and it is a flagrant- foul, griffin took horford to the ground with his hands, that wasn´t just because of the contact....
Sivarman 1 year ago
@Sivarman Ball should have been jumped at half court thus when the foul happend it should have been imbounded at half court. When the ball went out of bounds no ref could decide who it went off of thus it should jumped up at a neutral spot (half court ) not next to the Hawks basket. Then the foul would have been at half court and that's where this play would have started.
As for the second part:
Griffin does not hook Al. He keeps his hand straight up and when he falls they go on al. No felg.
