  • I had this idea ten years ago ... it's nice to finally see someone make it happen ... there are plenty of ways of saving a few watts here and there... I am sure you could design a purpose built model that would slightly up the wattage in this things but I understand that there are limits to human production capacity

you know if the gym combined this tech with passive solar , led lighting .. daytime conservation of lights etc .. the goal would be to save the energy costs of operation .. not bad

  • As usual Faux noise has no clue what they are talking about. This time it is the difference between kW & kWh. "1 kw of energy energy 10 hours" makes no sense. Perhaps they meant to say: each unit generates 100 watts.

Talking about "green energy"... reducing mindless consumption and waste would do much more than this hair brained scheme. But conservation is a bad word here in 'murica.

The myth of unlimited growth and consumption on a finite planet continues on. (Caution brick wall ahead!)

  • Yeah, the media rarely gets this stuff right.

This is still a kinda CooL idea. I could power my laptop and/or my little clip on fan on the elliptical trainer at the gym.
