Everthing is gone except for the scale house. The mine pumps are still on the platform but have since been fenced in. There is a Company working the site to the east of the old breaker location and has put up a new breaker and has 2 dragline shovels on site
NO IT'S NOT IN EBERVALE It's the Hazleton Shaft off of Cedar St. in Hazleton. I work for Jeddo Coal Co since 1985 and if you don't know what your talking about maybe you should keep your dumb comments to yourself
I thought steel was apart of pa, and moonshine....... and Ben Franklan lived here.... Pa is the most important states in the east coast and usa. During the revolutionary war and the civil war pa supplyed the best soldiers and most units. We are a blessing from god.
exactly, alot, i do mean alot of cola mining went on here in pennsylvania...alot of people suffered and died doing it...hazleton is changing though.... Jim Kovach? I wonder if he has any realation to the people of Kovach car dealership in Nesquehoning? who knows..
Coal mining is the history of PA. Please take a lot of photos and video. Once this is gone thats it. Never forget your familys history and be PROUD! You're Grandparents worked hard for all you have. My grandfather was a coalminer from Kelayres Pa.

to viper5gm: Does LV coal sales still
exist or have they also gone out of business? They were a huge business
in the 60's. I hauled many loads of coal out of there and over the hill at Jeddo 7.
This video is definitely the shaft on Cedar
St.

LV Coal went to the wayside long ago. Pagnotti ent. (Jeddo-Highland Coal) got most of it. I started with Jeddo Coal 3-1-85 and I'm still with them

I don't know. Everything was scheduled to be demolished a few weeks after our visit. I never went back but it is probably all gone

Has all of this been removed or is it still
there? What memories of sitting in my
truck for a whole day for a load of coal
way back in the mid 60's. I can still remember the weighmasters name.
Thanks for the trip back in time!
