  • Amateur hour.

  • My clearest memory of Close was in the early 80s when a crazed man took over the studio and forced Close to read a rambling statement (don't remember what it was about) before giving himself up.

  • So Kent Dana started at 10, made his career at 12, and ended at 5. Cool.

  • If anyone has any other clips of these Phoenix news shows, I'm looking for ones with Mary Jo West (the blonde woman in that first out-take),

  • Bill Close always gave me the feeling he was talking down to me. He had such a high opinion of himself - I just did not choose his News 10 very often... Ray Thompson on Ch. 12 was just the opposite - Mister Personality plus...

  • 1:27 - KENT DANA!?

  • @allnewtpir This must be before he joined KPNX in the 1980s then! I believe he replaced the departing Mike Hambrick as Linda Alvarez's co-anchor at KPNX…

  • Does anybody have the video of the 1982 live on-air hostage incident involving Bill Close and gunman Joseph Gwinn? I will post the audio of on-air incident soon!

  • I grew up in Mesa. Left in 1984 and have never been back. Watching these clips is like going home!

  • @mewhor mesa has changed alot since 84, like a lot

  • I grew up in Kingman, around the time KOOL became KTSP. To be able to see these clips is very fascinating. Thanks for uploading.
