It's funny but when I hear a song for the first time in a long time, as in the case of In A Gadda Da Vida, it's like I'm hearing it for the very first time. I was born in 1950 and I remember listening to this song back in the late 60s with a bunch of friends whom I haven't seen in a long time. But the memories kept coming back to me the more I listen to this song now. One of my all time favorites.

My dad, born in 49, had mentioned this being one of his favorite songs. I never really understood it, it was definitely different but I never thought it was that great. Stairway to Heaven isn't the most technical guitar solo by a mile, yet it's widely praised by everyone because it SOUNDS good, just like this drum solo.
