  • Screw the negativity. It's a about you & your help getting her done in your own driveway that's impressive. As long as your satisfied screw the critics

  • Yes wasted that time about 2 and 1/2 years ago. And am still waisting it every time I drive it today, its alot of fun waiting time and all. runs great.

  • y waste all that on a 2bolt main

  • It's guys like you that do stuff in yer garage as a family or good buddy project that this country great good job on this build I hope you have tons of fun with it

  • the fact the he heas never seen a two bolt main stroker just means he hasen't seen much if the engine stays below 6000 rpm it does not matter in fact the 2 bolt main block webs are stronger than a 4 bolt webs don't listen to that guy he is clueless

  • two bolt mains r just fine.

  • Screw the negativity...My son and I are sitting here enjoying this video. Rock on!

  • Right at the start i though got he needs to learn how to put rings on

  • before tdc

  • hey did you adjust your timing?btdc or atdc?did you?tq

  • you can run a 2 bolt 383 stroker with no problem as long as you're not building anything well over 500 hp....and most racing engines start off 2 bolt then splay in studs for a 4 bolt...they're angled and are stronger. either way..if you're not building a 600hp+ beast 2 bolt is just fine...i wouldnt recommend much over 6200 rpm but who the hell am i? i know people that abuse the hell outta stuff and it still keeps running great...keep building and running em hard! hell yeah!

  • i build racing engines for aliving and any machinist that builds high horse engines will tell you a 2 bolt block is stong enough for what you can throw at it.if you stay below 6800rpm. ive got a 383 in my nova now, 2 bolt has hit 9800 rpm and still winning.

  • Nice keep up the good work brother

  • At the time it was what I had, but that really dont matter.

I'm not at the drag strip with big ass racing slicks on it.

althought ive busted every mustangs ass on the street. so far.

Ive had no problem with it and its been over two years now.

I did put arp main studs in it though.

  • why would you build a 2 bolt main block?

  • fagish camera quality ,

  • @TheRb16 You know we are from South Africa and want to learn a lot from you guys over the seas, but i can't beleive how you people critisize each other. Down here we are just too pleased to be able to find some one with the same interest.

  • nothing wrong with two bolt mains u can run them up to 6500 or 7000 but i would'nt go anymore i run a two bolt main run it at the strip to 6800 with no problem.

  • Everybody has something negative to say. I gues if I take the road on the left,

instead of the road on the right. That would be improper too, even though they both meet at the same place. In other words what defferance does it make how somebody does something as long as it works. "Oh.... and it works very well by the way".

  • what a improper way to put a piston ring on

  • Not to be rude, but everybody knows somthing. First of all it was primed with oil.

Second of all it's not a flat tapped cam. It's a full roller motor.

Roller cam, Roller rokers, Roller Lifters.

Lets See ....... This video was uploaded a year ago. engine still runs like new.

So before you comment on videos, acting like you are all knowing. You should know the facts first.

  • Unfortunately, it may be waisted because of not following the proper break in proceedures. Looked to me like you had it at idle looking for oil to pump through the pushrods at the rockers and for the engine to get to temp. Should have pre-primed the oil and set it at 1800 to 2000 rpm for at least 20 min or so to properly break in the cam. Likely, a flat cam in a short time will be the result ... SORRY BOUGHT THAT ... But...Good Video

  • @jerrybrothekid Were you there?

  • 3.75 inch, I bought a kit that came with the crank, rods, pistons and rings.

And the bearings too, if memory serves me.

  • hey man, nice build ! what length conrods do you use when building a 383? cause u use a 400 crank right? but stock rods would be to long and the pistons would get above the block. can you get me an answer? thanx

    Greets.

  • nice video, but WHO in their right mind builds a 383 stroker WITH 2 (TWO) bolt mains ? This is a first I've seen. I've built many of these, but have yet to see one with 2 bolt mains.

  • @ltzavalanche There's a first time for everything and I'm not in my right mind.

It's been awhile sence we put that together and I havent had a problem.

But then I dont have supper big drag tires on the car and i dont race it. I just drive it and bust mustangs buts every now and then.

  • @DV1Productions... Begging your pardon, old friend. How many thousands of 2 bolt main engines were built (and raced) before the 4 bolt main came along? FYI, the 4 bolt main was not the birth of a race engine. A lot of big name racers got their start running 2 bolt main engines. I have been known to run a few trips down the strip myself with a two bolt main with no problems.

    HURST Performance Engines

  • @ltzavalanche Hey if it just a street motor a 2 bold would be find I have seen 327 all solid lifter motors turn 8,000 and better and still hold together if built right Balancing and Bluprinting is the big key to it.

  • @ltzavalanche I quote "nice video, but WHO in their right mind builds a 383 stroker WITH 2 (TWO) bolt mains ? This is a first I've seen. I've built many of these, but have yet to see one with 2 bolt mains." who gives a fuck, a standard bottom end will flow 800hp no hassles, 4 bolt for this engine would just be all wank factor.... Maybe when you have a trade in mechanics you may have a half reasonable comment to post till then fuck off you know it all magazine mechanic...

  • @ltzavalanche not to necro post but 2 bolt mains arent as terrible as people think, 2 bolt mains can handle anything this side of 500hp give or take a little, non NOS or blown obviously.

  • @ltzavalanche some people argue that 4 bolts are weaker than 2 bolts. but i think they are high

  • @ltzavalanche a 2 bolt main can handle plenty of horse power and rpms in a street car the only reason min eis 4 bolt main is thats what my truck had in it i would build a 2 bolt any day for a nice street car im not revving it to the moon or looking at tons of power if i go with a nice driver now if he was building it to race with you are right but again id rather start with a 2 bolt block for a higher horse power can because you can put splayed caps on a 2 bolt cant convert a 4 bolt to splayed

  • Two bolt main? I hope you don't throw a rod.

  • what kind of speed pros are the pistons?

  • @Silveradofanatic hyperutectic

  • @DV1Productions what is hyperutectic exactly mean?

  • @Silveradofanatic From my understanding. They are nearly as strong as a forged piston I'm not exactly sure but I now someone who can answear that exactly.

He Is who helped me build mine. You can email him on youtube as well ChryslerCCCLXXXIII

  • @DV1Productions Thanks for the reply i'll ask him right away! Great vid btw.

  • @Silveradofanatic Hypereutectic pistons are high silicon aluminum.

  • @Silveradofanatic Just a fancy name for cast.

  • great video, cool effects!

    more meat and potatoes though.

I wanna see stuff set, torqued,installed,tightened,aligned,etc..

  • those cartoon effects were pretty cool. Nice build
