Thanks for uploading this movie! I first saw it on PBS in 1995 and I loved it! Aside from "The Innocents", this is my favorite version of "The Turn of the Screw". I think whoever did the costumes for this movie should have gotten an award, they are so detailed and authentic-looking, right down to the bonnets and crinoline hoops! It looks like it is actually taking place in around the year 1860! Very enjoyable movie and Valerie and Diana Rigg are great.

I have been searching for this movie FOREVER. I watched it the night it aired. I remembered that I had to make a decision that night... "do I watch this & tape BYE BYE BIRDIE? Or do I watch BYE BYE BIRDIE and tape this?" BYE BYE BIRDIE was airing on ABC, and it was a made for tv remake starring chynna Phillips. The little dude (Miles)... Great young actor! The confidence/arrogance in his eyes. Not to mention playing the schizophrenic-like/possessed dual personality. IMDB.com has very little about lred Roberts. Wonder what happened to what seems a promising new actor?

Yes there have been at least two previous versions of Henry James `Turn of the Screw' this is the least impressive since it fails to capture the oldie world eeriness and tension throughout. The acting and direction is also less good, effectively losing the essence of the original plot wherein because the `evil goings on' are solely seen through the eyes of the governess the viewer is left wondering at the end whether they actually took place or the governess was mad .

@thebaby2436 I have 9 film adaptation of the Henry James novel The Turn of the Screw and Yes The Innocents (1961) was the best. Great acting in that film. I would list The Haunting of Helen Walker (1995) in the top 5, good movie. Best TV movie of 1995!
