This actually is very impressive for a starter! I'm starting with fruity loops now and I can say that it is pretty overwhelming in the beginning. I've experimented for around 2 days now and i already understand it a whole lot better and can make some basic tracks so I think it's a great acomplishment if you did this when you just started with FL:)!

If anything, it shows why reason does need vsts because the sounds are so old skool honest mastering has improved GREATLY since the 90s and so has sound and tbh iv heard music of people on reason that sound 10 times better than that reason video that was put up

but reason is very limiting, there is only so much you can do until your songs start sounding the same because you ran out of stuff to use within reason. Ye u can expand reason using reason refills, but there arent nearly enough refills compared to the amount of vst plugins out there. Reason is the only daw i know of that doesn't use vst or au (au in a nutshell is mac equivalent to vst, logic requires au to my understanding), the reason all the other daws use vst is because you cant beat vst

i agree, fl has a lot more freedom than reason since you can expand it by adding more vst plugins and vst plugins are getting better every year some even sound good enough to be compared with hardware these days. check out nitrous oxide & juventa they both use fl studio and are quite big on the trance scene
