As to why this song in particular and Jamalski in general never got more popular is quite beyond me. This song is among the many during its era that not only combined the Dance Hall genre with Rap but also followed closely with Ice-T's very politically aware prose. A potent and influential combination indeed for teenaged minds like mine at that time. While never gaining the publicity it should have, African Border was iconic and a fixture of the early 1990s.
