@thatbostonchick I believe it, my cat used to open cabinets and knock on the bathroom door when it was closed and all kinds of weird non-cat-like things... They are mysterious creatures, I'm sure kitty can open a lever door if he must needs some treats LOL...

lol my cats used to crawl under the door when they were little kittens it was pretty creepy actually that's why we had to put cardboaes under the doors when we went to the bathroom

Except for the part that he really did open it. He doesn't live in that apartment anymore, but the new apartment has a lever for the front door (that he's hell-bent on opening). My goal is to videotape him doing it to prove that he actually opens doors.

I once also had a tomcat that was able to open doors the same way, so I believe it's real...

Oh whenever he wants -- he hates it now, because he's now in an apartment with doorknobs instead of handles. This means if the door is closed on him, he can't get in anyway! He's been taking out his frustration on trying to open the front door, which has a handle.

I remember Salem from ninja cat, when you jumped onto a bed and sent him flying.

It would have been cruel of you to induce him to do his trick and then withhold the treat.

Haha oh no, he got his treats. The segment at the end is him having his treats and then looking suspiciously at the camera. I'm a crazy cat lady, and thought that it was too adorable not to have in the video =)

He does too -- but the only way to *inspire* him to open the door on camera is to stand on the other side and shake his treats box. My boyfriend's roommate had to start locking his doors because Salem would get in each night and knock things over.

Unfortunately, my boyfriend (who actually owns the cat) moved out of that apartment into one without lever doorknobs. I had to make sure to film this before we left for good. Salem (the kitten) was not thrilled when the changeover happened.
