  • Weird?

  • tinuod ni?

  • At 3:04 to 3:11 that looked like real shark footage

  • wtf soo freakin bull

  • I really enjoyed watching this :)

  • this was pretty good for back then!!!! nice job guys!

  • If only I was a shark at 4:39 to make her mine. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha

  • Wow. That chief of police was totally T.C.O.B!

  • @indarnation I think 3 people ended up playing the sheriff! Scheduling conflicts.

  • new species of shark?

  • Very nice

  • great job.... fabulous!

  • I thought it was fantastic!! Well done.

  • this is great!

  • lol, i thought this was cool.

  • wat the f@ck was that

  • that shark is so scary :0

  • Since JAWS is one of my top five movies of all time, I thought this little film was great! Did you add the sound recently? Sounds pretty clean considering only vinyl and cassette were around circa 1978. Sound effects dubbing is also remarkable for a Super 8. Also brought back fond memories of the HALLOWEEN inspired Super 8 I shot in 1979. I'm still making films, check out my channel.

  • Better than Window Movie Maker

  • Lol'd. really xD

  • THAT SHARKK IS TOOO SCARY :O

  • @EveBabezx i know right when i saw it i almost craped my pants lol

  • Thts wht I call an act but you could have just had the girl float there instead of a manican so you can see the body and then have fake blood on her or somethin u knw? (: Just a tip please dont take it in a rong way thnxx! (:

  • um it was a piece of iron u bitch

  • whata GEM!! thanks for the upload!!

  • FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! great sound effects!!! specially the "chump" one when the shark eats the 1st victim!!!

  • Very nice indeed; considering the equipment available at the time it's ingenious and funny; I think all this off the shelf digital fx and tools we have today, often make us loose the fun of inventing hand-made empiric tricks which are so important for our creativity. Furthermore, in 78 I was 12 too.

  • hihî_påsst_híér_ñet_rèïn_äbä_ích_bìñ_sø_êînsãm_wîll_jêmàñd_mît_mìá_schrëïbèn

  • That's great! We made a bunch of 8mm monster movies back in the 70's as well. Great way to hang onto your memories!

  • that was cool and they did the right thing to do it with JAWS

  • Great. Digital media is good for keeping things like this forever. My family did a horror movie one family reunion in 1983. Twas called "The Wompus Cat" I don't know whatever happened to it, I wish I could watch it again. The SHARK! is awesome hell of alot more fun than CG. I like the real footage of great whites as well.

  • lol that is the best ever looking home made shark i have ever seen

  • good job guys, are you directors now?

  • this is so cute and creative!!

  • good work next make piranha

  • What a cute shark!!

  • FUCK

  • Ahhhh, the 70's. I was 14 in '78, and we had tons of active, outdoor fun as kids, but it looks like you guys had an especailly fun time for summer vacation making this! How long did it take to create? I did laugh out loud when I saw your shark, and it's attack on the young girl. But I hope Steven Spielberg has seen this; I'm sure he'd get a real kick out of it! Bravo!

  • I was 12 in 1978..we were not hooked up to computers, cell phones and watched TV only at night on certain days because there was only 3 good TV channels. We didnt even have VHS and when someone called you, if you weere not home, you didnt get the call! We read more, played outdoors and had better social skills, less obesity as kids now. I'm so happy I had that childhood.

  • @Jcsharitz I couldn't have said it better! Kids today are so hooked on Ipods and Playstation that they don't even see the need to physically see their friends or go and do virtually anything. For me, growing up in the 80's was nothing like how it is today. We went swimming, skated, played hockey.... I remember being so excited being able to ride my bike alone and couldn't wait to explore all the trails in my area. For kids today, its all about isolation and they dont even realize it. So sad.

  • @ProfessorKA0S As much as I love my computer, I agree with you sadly im 12 and didn't grow up in the 80's whcih kind of sucks in my opinion

  • @KISSfan567 Whatever decade you grow up in, the previous one was always WAY better.

  • @smackyjack Im aware of that, xD

  • @KISSfan567 at least you see what your missing and have lots of time to do something about it. Nice to see some kids are still able to see what they might be missing out on!

  • @Jcsharitz Remember Drive in Theatres ?For 2.25 my family and I went to go see a double feature. Jaws and close and counters . Shit !!!! I couldn't get quints death out of my mind for the longest time. I also kept drawing that Mountain. Jaws 2 was awesome too.

  • nice job guys!

  • i always liked this

  • This is awesome! I had a 8mm vid cam as a kid and didn't have this imagination. Great work for the time and age that is was made!

  • This is actually really good

alot better than Jaws 3 and 4

  • Brings back alot of memories from my Super 8 days (that's film not digital tape). Enjoyed it much.

  • Pressing 5 while watching is fun!

  • @Danyukhin you know what else is fun while watching?

    yeah, I bet you do.

  • @puzokutya Umm... Eating popcorn? I don't like to eat popcorn while watching stuff, so...

  • @Danyukhin Yeah me neither. Cashew nuts yeah. Popcorn, fuck no. Almonds, hell yeah! Muffins? Leave it out!

  • GREAT job! Inverntive for kids back in the day---shark footage (filmed from TV), using a local lake to fill in as the ocean, creative editing, even a faux shark! Zowie! I wish i had been half as creative as a kid.

  • Wow that was really great! especially at that age, with that technology. Really good job i liked it!

  • 4:41 is funny

  • "We'll be fine with a smaller boat." - Brody.

  • At least your shark is working !!!

  • meh, was still better than deep blue sea.

  • Loved the Hanna Barbera "CHOMP!" bite sound effect on the first attack, lol. Shows how big cartoon sound effects were burned into everybody's brains back then. And I love how the girl ducks her head INTO the paper mache shark's mouth to complete the eating, LOL.

  • Kinda has this look on its face of "yeah, I'm a shark. I'm gonna eat you. Hooray everybody." but in a very bored tone.

But not bad for a $60 budget (accounting for inflation... $170)

  • Very cleverly done- nice work

  • well done for a children's version of jaws

  • Very funny...

  • not to bad

  • dewin lol :3

  • im 12 now, and this is great its just so cute GREAT JOB!!!

  • Paper Mache' Lol! Classic.

  • Congratulations to the makers of this cute film. No doubt it must remains, to you, as a great memory from your teenage days !

  • Great job XD

The world before cell phones and computer(1978).

Now adays you would be shot for the fake gun and called a terrorist for your bomb.

    Goodtimes

  • The kid in the dress is funny...

  • low Very LOW

  • waah loved the fake shark :p

  • Awesome....I so wanted to do this as a kid...even wrote the script, but had no camera to make it happen! Jealous!

  • lol this is funny. it's a paper shark. XD

  • This may be a stupid uestion, but how do people get archive footage from Historical scenes, video from home videos cameras from this time period and all that onto a computer.

  • Brilliant!!!

  • Did they die?! D:

  • It's a good film. Thank you.

  • Brilliant! Loved every minute of it. The first shark attack and the introduction of the "chief of police" scenes are hilarious!

  • Way ahead of its time. Making movies now is sooo easy with our digital files and computer editing. Back then it took real skillz! Thanks for sharing! :)

  • a was getin realy scared for a moment

  • nice job!

  • 8:23 made me rofl

  • wattttt

  • EPIC shark!

  • I liked it...

  • Hahaha epic failure... No I'm just kiddin', you guyz did great!!!

  • great job!

  • i love this video!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The shark's not-fake-ness had something to be desired, but this is a good video, definitely worth watching.

  • Excellent. Brings back memories.

  • best movie ive seen in the last 20 minutes.

  • Well, I think it worked a little better than the shark in Jaws. ;-)

  • Wow, that shark has some serious problems. Look at that face!

  • would've been better if they used a person swimming under water with a fin.

  • It feels like I'm watching a silent movie in colour, but a good one at that!

  • I was cracking up because of the special effects throughout the whole thing. It was fairly humorous.

  • I like this.

  • hahaha i love this!

  • nice gun and welldone

  • shark looks fake....

  • yea...no shit

  • the movie is weird and very hilarious!!

  • wooow really good job guys. very good fliming for not havin alot to work with... i like it :) jaws is one of my fav's :) this was a long time ago...lol

  • that was gay a wast of my life

  • Good thing the explosion didn't kill the sheriff.

  • the explosion killed the sheriff...but it didnt kill the deputy... oh no no...

  • oh shit is this real?? my God did they die

  • AWESOME!!! 10/5

  • I love this! Your shark is actually better than the ones in the actual Jaws films!!! 5 Stars!

  • This movie is better than The Godfather.

  • well, it's still better than 12 days of terror.

  • That was amazing I loved it and it must have been so hard to film

  • lol, cute =)

  • i never know that shark can scream like a girl

  • shark looks cute :3

  • @dewinmoonl I´am agree with you, the cardboard shark is quite accomplished.

  • hillarious especailly for twelve year olds, shows the differance of what 12 year old are getting up to today!

  • All that sex and violence, it's a good thing production values have changed ;P Very nicely done for a group of kids and yeah, $12 for three minutes of film was a lot back then. Brings back memories of my own childhood in the 70's.

  • Aww, I was hoping the end would have a title card that said 'FIN'... Otherwise, hilarious! Reminds me of similar projects at that age...

  • this is brilliant!!!!

  • lol.....sick

  • i love it

  • nice

  • very cool

  • You know what?? Screw today's digital nonsense! This film rules!! And for being only twelve years old, that is really impressive! I'm glad you all have preserved this for others to see!

    Awesome.

  • omg that rolled comments are crazy

  • this movie is way better then jaws 3

  • PAUSE AT 4:44 IT MADE ME LAUGH SO HARD

  • This is really impressive...and funny. Kudos!

  • OMG!!! that is halarious!

  • Luuuuuv it!!!

  • I peed my pants twice!!!

  • wow never knew sharks chill on top of the water.......thats one serious looking shark im so scared now

  • Man after seeing this I will never.......NEVER! go back in the water.

  • BOOM!- lol

  • That's funny. I gotta make something like that! LOL

  • toll jetzt hatte ich mich gefreut und dann ein blech hai

  • is this scary

  • lol her head looked like a plastic doll's head....freaky

  • was floating on the water and there was two people inside when he got closer to the door the people said is he gone but when they saw him they ran and thats all i remember i know it cant be creature coz the scenes all wrong and it cant be hammerhead coz this guy was a black coloured shark not hammerhead at all and no scenes in hammerhead add up to it its really weird coz i remember the shark and the scene yet the only familiar shark is creature but i know its not=(

  • since this is a good place to ask but ive been on every shark movie website and monster movies and for 6 years i havnt found a single trace of this movie was wondering maybe someone here knew of a 1990+ movie that was on TV but never on video perhaps. Anyways the shark was black very rubber look he had his fin high on his head and was rather short his nose pointed down when he walked like a penguin i only remember vaguely but he was outside a house walking on the porch or w/e the house

  • 4:44 SHE IS SCARIER THEN MY BUTT HAIRS

  • The movie is awesome!! For me super8 has a typicall flair of the 70ies (if something BLOW was shot on super8 it would have a great flair).

    BUT AWESOME SHORTFILM!!!

  • stop at 4:44 she's alot scarier then the shark

  • LOL! 4:44 i laughed like i got paid for it! lol hilarious face. no offence to that person though.

  • This is damn good. Their Shark worked even better than Steven Spielberg shark(bruce) which kept sinking, Thats why you dont get to see the shark until at least the 80min. With out john williams soundtrack Jaws would have bombed in 1975.

  • No, Spielburg's shark ONLY went underwater because Steven thought it was a good idea to make it sort of like a mystery, because if he showed it every attack, it would get boring, so they only showed him at the end. Also, anyone could have recorded the Jaws soundtrack. Well at least Spielburg's shark wasn't just a cardboard model. HIS SHARK WAS AWESOME MATERIAL, NOT JUST CARDBOARD/PLASTIC!

  • there is something really creepy about Super8 film . . . I've always found that . . . no matter what the video is capturing, it always seems like something horrific will/should happen. it just gives off that aura

  • Nice shark.

Building it must have been hard though.

    Whats it made out of?

  • This is pretty damn awesome compared to everything else thats on youtube... what makes it more awesome is when it was made, creative buggers! lol.

  • loved the first shark lol

  • I thought it was funny that the "girl" on the airmatress and the one with the white hat where boys!:D

  • BETTER GRAPHICS THAN JAWS!!!!

p.s maybe it would b better if you only saw the fin!

    sorry. LOLZ

  • very well done. wonder what happened to the authors?

  • Well done! You may have to answer to John Williams, though.

  • Very good especially for the era. 2 thumbs up!!!!!

  • wow einfach richtig geil sowas würden wir nie hinkriegen ^^

  • one of the best av ever seen

  • Awesome stuff!! Watching this on Super8 brings back memories of being a kid. Time were sure different. This is great and thanks for sharing your archive footage. 5 stars!

  • First Shark was very funny xD

  • I lol'd at the chomp noise, that was good!

  • this is actually pretty damn good, considering everything. good pace, good editing, extrememly cool shark. what *is* that, anyway? looks like a trash can, some cardboard, and some silver paint. wtf? awesome!

  • ahaha that shark looked cute

  • I'm never going to go in the water again! That shark is scary.

  • Make like a T V show of it,I'd watch it ALL the time

  • that looks fake!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What part of "The year is 1978. A team of 12 year olds have decided to make a Super8 film"

didn't you get? Kids didn't have a computer and final cut pro to create movies with back then...

  • quite a show u guys made, fabu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
