I think that scholars must have previously missed links between the music of the Ancient World and the Middle Ages. This is so like Gregorian Chant.

@farliesbirthday No they haven't. This has nothing to do with ancient greek music they've simply taken the lyrics and the notes and they've interpreted them in a medieval gregorian style singing

Aunque por otra parte es bello saber lo que ae ha logrado y doloroso lo que se ha perdido. Como sea, son experiencias que no pasan en la indiferencia. Tu pregunta me aprece muy interesante.

No he visto algun CD con estas melodias, aunque se pueden descargar del sitio del Prof. Johnson. Por otra parte, hay una publicacion de estos papiros, en el Journal of Hellenic Studies, con el titulo Musical Evenings in the Early Empire: New Evidence from a Greek Papyrus with Musical Notation.
