Hiphop is all about sampling, my friend.

It started back in the day (before hiphop was called hiphop) with DJs who got themselfs 2 of the same vynil records.

For example a soul song..

They took a little sample of the instrumental and started to loop that, and scratch on it. (with the turntables only)

That way they created a totally new beat..which is called a breakbeat. This technique is called "beatjuggling".

Thats how it started and thats what hiphop is about.
