I'm a retired Navy Corpsman who was stationed at nearby Camp Pendleton and after that San Diego. and later at Orlando. Frequently went to both Disneyland and Disneyworld. Whenever I was there I made it a point of always being in the Square to watch this ceremony and it never failed to bring a lump in my throat
Franks4duke, trust me I know. I have been active duty Air Force for 13 years now. I have seen this here on youtube a bunch of times, and thought to myself when I go back to Disney I will be there saluting this. Well, I got my chance when my wife, son, and I went there after I got back from a deployment. I got to fulfill my wish!
@ScottyUrb No, I just was there visiting the park with my family and was one of the people in street clothes taking part in honoring our beloved flag. If I were the guest of honor (which would be awesome) I would bring my full service uniform and wear that. I am still in the AF as we speak.
If you have any patriotic bone in your body, this ceremony will definitely bring tears to your eyes, especially when you see the reverence with which the veterans take part! Nice to hear them sing "God Bless America" during the ceremony as well! Always a highlight for our trips to Disney. Thanks for posting!

Thank you for your service! Were you the guest of honor who bore the flag?
