One of my earliest memories of the NFL was of those big letters posted on the screen showing the teams and the score(it had to be a CBS game). It was sooo nice how before 1994, networks didn't feel obligated to show the teams, time, score, down, play clock, temperature, humidity, cloud cover, etc. on the screen.

Actually, FOX was the first network to do that when they first got NFL rights in the mid-90s...CBS and NBC refused to do so for years. Then once everyone saw how much the fans liked it, all the networks started showing the teams and score.

it was like listening to god call a game. awesome. u couldnt beat em then n nothing compares to summeral and madden today. didnt matter what the game was. if they had it u couldnt help but watch.

God I love the 86 team. Everything just came together that year, the culmination of 84 leading to 85 then by 86 it was our year. Yeah, yeah a lot of Bears fans say if McMahon hadn't gotten injured in 86 they would have repeated. Who knows. But the Gmen got it going by around week 6 or 7 that year where they really came together as a team. The Jets actually got more attention that year earlier on, they started 10-1. Then lost the next 5 games and losing in the divisional round vs the Browns by 3.

I wish we would of played the jets just because of the jet fans who actually thought they would beat us, jet fans were talking alot of shit this year, but the choke job against the browns shut them up
