I got a SDS8 off of Ebay several years ago. Although it has broke since then, I was never able to get it to play that signature Simmons Tom sound that's in this video....
Very good demo of the SDS8......I was 14 years old when I saw a drummer playing a SDS8 (with an acoustic snare and cymbals) for a gig on my little village...
From that time I am like you really interested by edrums....
What brain did you prefer,SDS5 or SDS8?
Thank a lot for this video Thierry EPPHERRE from France
I prefer the SDSV. Especially through the recording session I must state the the SDS8 needed much more editing to achieve a reasonable sound. And as you likely know the SDSV provides much better electronic components. SDS8 is more or less a consumer machine
PS: Still in my opinion the SDS8 does a really good job, easy to use, reliable, no contact trouble with module cards sliding in their socket. And it is fully analog: no CPU or ram, just solid analog electronics
a nice one! Yes, the SDS 8 fits "Ordinary World" indeed - but why not one of the Duran Duran classics like "Hungry like the wolf"? With its nice SDS V? ;)
Anyway, nice cover, and it's always a pleasure to see what you are doing!
i just picked up a set of mint condition simmons sds 8 for 300 canadian dollars...they sound and look great, and rare color too, an electric blue !

Very nice! I've been trying to get my hands on a sds 8 kit for some time now. It would be cool to use one as a main drumset.
Thanks :)
