I've got some beat up SDS8 pads, and would love to have the sound module too - Simmons rocks!

Anyway, thanks very much for sharing all you have!

I really enjoyed watching your videos!!

    Cheers from Brazil,

    Stefano

  • You are the MAN!!!!!! Ultra cool.

    Thanks for the post.

  • I got a SDS8 off of Ebay several years ago. Although it has broke since then, I was never able to get it to play that signature Simmons Tom sound that's in this video....

  • I love the drumming. Is that your voice?

  • @CircleCityEric: yes. Everything you hear is played or sung by me

  • @simmonsmuseum Fantastic!Got any albums?

Those drums sound as good today as they did in their heyday.

  • Good tight drumming.

  • Cool, I might get this kit... my question is: how much it's worth

  • anything between 100 and 800 Euro depending on condition and luck

  • @simmonsmuseum Well, this one guy is selling his whole sds8 kit with working pads and all with 500 euros, is it possible to get some off?

  • @simmonsmuseum Hi Please could you tell me if you have a good condition SDVS5 kit or SDSV7 kit with brain for sale. Thanks

  • Hello,

Very good demo of the SDS8......I was 14 years old when I saw a drummer playing a SDS8 (with an acoustic snare and cymbals) for a gig on my little village...

From that time I am like you really interested by edrums....

What brain did you prefer,SDS5 or SDS8?

Thank a lot for this video Thierry EPPHERRE from France

  • I prefer the SDSV. Especially through the recording session I must state the the SDS8 needed much more editing to achieve a reasonable sound. And as you likely know the SDSV provides much better electronic components. SDS8 is more or less a consumer machine

  • PS: Still in my opinion the SDS8 does a really good job, easy to use, reliable, no contact trouble with module cards sliding in their socket. And it is fully analog: no CPU or ram, just solid analog electronics

  • Hi Wolfgang,

a nice one! Yes, the SDS 8 fits "Ordinary World" indeed - but why not one of the Duran Duran classics like "Hungry like the wolf"? With its nice SDS V? ;)

Anyway, nice cover, and it's always a pleasure to see what you are doing!

  • Yes Yes very nice!! I have a kit (without the brain.)

Thank you for put this video on youtube!

  • Just keep looking! You'll find one, I'm sure!

  • Very nice! I've been trying to get my hands on a sds 8 kit for some time now. It would be cool to use one as a main drumset.

    Thanks :)
