@sirolly Funny you should ask this - yes, I get that quite a lot (at least when I'm wearing these glasses). The first time I saw them, in New York, I was standing right up front and Óbó definitely looked directly at me and like, shifted his head like he was trying to see if he actually saw a doppelganger. It was made even more hilarious by the fact that he was dominating a piano part at the time.
@AshleyRose43 Probably not. Jónsi doesn't publish his lyrics, so it's all up to interpretation. My opinion changes on what it is (and so does his, because the early recordings sound quite lyrically different than the later ones), so I certainly can't write down what I think it is. It's anybody's guess, really (the Jónsi forums, at least for a while had quite a hilarious debate regarding the lyrics to this song).
@yorayalay I usually record with an Electro-Voice Raven. It's got the breadth to capture the lows of cajon up to the highs of flute, voice, etc. Great mic for the price.
@tigerwoods2332 I thought he did an excellent job considering the circumstances. No one has Jonsi's voice, it is one of a kind. To take on such a cover is really ambitious... I liked it!
@amam231 Do a Google search for "Stars in Still Water tabs" and click on the post from the Jónsi forum. I used a mixture of the tab linked there and some imagination, because I got lazy and didn't want to double-check to make sure I was doing everything right.
Also note, I have the capo on the third fret (like Jónsi) because we both keep our guitars tuned down a full step. For standard tuning, first fret is the original key.
Best cover I've heard so far You have a great voice not an easy song to sing.
Loved the guitar playing as well. Can I find these chords somewhere with capo 3?
