I understand your intention and that is not what I am against. The way in which you chose to execute you freedom of speech is rather disturbing. I am disturbed about your choice of song and feel that you could have achieved more if you chose a song that was appropriate, a song that would fully capture that situation. I appreciate your initiative nd reckon tht ur a gr8 person but I feel that next time, read the situation carefully and be a bit more sensitive...
@01Snay What music would you feel is more appropriate in your view? Would you rather have a less disturbing sound track and leave it up to the imagination? What sound would better express the way the policemen acted with seeming impunity and contrary to our bill of rights? Or are you of the school of thought which sanctifies death, in which case, the only possible music would be religious music? Youtube has an audio editor with a selection which you are free to use if you wish.
How one can make such a mockery of a painful thing such as this, I do not have a clue. Is this funny? Is it something worth making a leisure out of..Freedom of expression? Everyone knows that you have freedom of expression but in expressing yourself we would expect you to be humane about. Think of the family members that would watch this and think of how his son, who was celebrating his fourth birthday, would feel if he were to watch this in a few years time. Check yourself sir..
@01Snay sorry but this video is definitely not satire. Rather it is a sad indightment of police brutality and the policy of shoot to kill under "General Cele" as can obviously be seen by the clips, using footage that is generally available on the Internet and which was screened by the SABC and worldwide. If you have problems with it, then perhaps you should ask yourself the question -- why are you disturbed by the footage, what is it exposing about South Africa that we don't like?
@ethnopunk I understand your intention and that is not what I am against. The way in which you chose to execute you freedom of speech is rather disturbing. @01Snay Everyone is a critic. I chose the track because it best illustrates the callousness of the events. Audiotec produce excellent soundtraks which invoke the hardness of modern technocratic society. You, like many others appear to be reacting with discomfort to the recontextualisation of SABC footage, since now it is impossible to deny your complicity in the event. It is we who have created General Cele, and it is We the People of South Africa, who ssued the order at the end of the day.
@ethnopunk.So you chose to highlight the callousness of the event by being being both callous &unfeeling yourself? Wt emotions did u aim 2invoke by compiling this wt a song such as th one u hv chosen? And have those emotions been invoked as u hd aimed for them to. I don't think, so because as you can see, very few people are amused. My intention is nt 2shut u down but rather to challenge you to maybe do it ova nd wn u do, take sm tym nd b sensitive.in tht way u will reach more ppl. I promis u
@01Snay You making value judgments. Would you rather airbrush away the problem? Would you rather hide the brutality? You are free to remix the video and add your own soundtrack in the way you feel is most suitable. But no, I object to your lame appraisal of my artwork and your obviously reactionary stance on the issue. If I was trying to get a cheap laugh out of this I can think of a million other ways of presenting the information. Shocking as it may seem, I disagree with your choices.

@blessedfay go cry yourself to sleep idiot, shit happens in all races, i'm damn happy and proud to be black and that doesn't justify the idiotic actions that some blacks get into. thank God i was born black nothing beats being a black person, our will to survive not matter what, don't think any other race would have handled being black and our issues caused by us and others PROUDLY BLACK AFRICAN
Why are we outraged that SAPS is killing protesters? We were all here when two serving Ministers ordered police to "shoot to kill".We were all here with our eyes wide open when the designations/ranks of police officers were converted from civilian to military:Comm of Police overnight became a General. Why should we suddenly burst into anger against the killing of one man now? Until we all share the pain of personal loss, we’ll not see that the SAPS is translating into flame that’ll consume us all.
@mziwethu1 it is not a music video, it is my personal response to the violation of andre tatane's rights by a fascist police brigade who were just following orders, surely you know about freedom of expression?
@mziwethu1 the music emphasis is to show the technocratic manner in which police are unleashed to brutalise protestors, I chose it to make people feel uncomfortable about the juxtoposition of Cele's voice, his words and the images from SABC
i hope there comes a time when the SAPS start serving the community not themselves.......its such a shame n i sad to wtch someone die like that.. it was uncalled for no matter what his fault was.. it was really very stupid.
This police is really a bunch of stupid cunts.. they shoot a unarmed man at close range wile they outnumber him like 20 to 1 wile standing around him.. does these morons not realize that they are really lucky they didn't shoot each other ??
Yes thats right for the people who did not see the full news story, the cops shot him few times hitting him in the chest at close range, that part is not clearly showed on this vid.
@ethnopunk Come on, you know no one is going to remix the video. I just wanted to see the footage, so thanks for that. But I just wanted you to know that it could have been a lot more effective without the techno soundtrack... take it or leave it.
Well, if he just did what he was supposed to do when an officer of the law tell him to do something, he would still be alive. This is one of many problems in South Africa, no one has the proper respect for law-enforcement. I take my hat of for them (Police), because they get told to go to places you will dare to enter. Just remember, it's their work to go to these places, they also has family that might not see them again and unlike the guy that died, they don't have a choice.
Howzit, just wanting the name of this track.
