drives47, What an unkind comment to post on this forum...Tony McPhee is a lovely guy, a real gentleman, and his music is superb. What a classic band, and what a superb evening we all had on the 11th October 2008. We saw Tony live on the Classic Legends of Rock Tour, at The Regent Centre, Christchurch, Dorset. What a superb gig too. Keep on Rocking Tony and please ignore ignorant tossers that write extremely hurtful comments. They are very sad little Morons.
Interesting that you could even be arsed to find that out? .... And how wonder I? Strong the force is within you. Lacks direction it does. Listen to music you must. Chords, melodies and vocals one with the force should be.
And, when someone in the piddly assed audience, most of whom were expecting some proper blues, yells "shut the f*ck up and play the f*cking guitar and stop wanking it" he might take his head out of his arse and listen?

I had the unfortunate chance to see them recently. Don't bother! 'Improvisation' clearly means to Tony McPhee "I can do what I want" Can't sing, hits bum notes all the time, din't seem to play one chord all night (and it was a long night!) didn't know when to shut the f*** up. With 4 effects pedals and the volume cranked up he could've just chucked his guitar on stage and let it scream while he stayed in the bar. It would probably have sounded better that way to be honest.

mmm, Tony is a great guy, I have been watching him for years, but can see how some may not 'get it'. Anyway , each to their own I say, and I personally will always love the Groundhogs etc.err, I dont think the sound qualitys too bad !
I have 'Thank Christ for the Bomb', 'Split' and 'Hogwash' which are all good albums. However, I saw the Groundhogs live 6 or 7 times in the 70's and they were usually terrible and managed to make each song sound like 'Junkman' from the 'Split' album.
seen these guys twice in the 80s and they blew everyone away!! Amzing sound!!
