@fbk81 Indeed, PHP is not needed if you only need to do .htaccess stuff, but; that isnt the basis of what this tutorial was for.

This tutorial, and yes it is a tutorial; since I was tutoring you, that was covering some of the most used features of Htaccess, not a complete over view of it. That would take at least 2 hours, for even the most basic coverage if I was to explain it properly.

So, sorry for wasting your time. Maybe I wont waste mine in future, trying to help people like you?

@beaudryrv The actual use of Htaccess isn't difficult.. Simply save it into a webfolder as .htaccess, and as long as apache is running it will read the htaccess file

How do I keep a web folder private? I want to prevent web bots from listing the contents of one of my folders. I'm guessing it has to do with .htaccess?

@jbatley1 How is this labelled incorrectly? I label it as a htaccess tutorial. It teaches on some aspects of HTaccess. Did i list it atall as a 404 workaround etc? Great man, in this AddType to change the Html file to Php file is great, So friends dont use any php files, just use all the files in Html, but onething to makesure is include the file in php code with the html file,
