  • i could listen to this all day

  • @TheKiller945 Thank you! Please check out my cd PURE.

  • hey man,

i love your stuff. watching the berklee jam with you and mayer is awesome. i may only be a 20yr old drummer, but i really appreciate true musicians keeping music how it should be.

    keep it up!

  • @eastonboarder Thank you! You should work hard to get your groove!

  • Nice work man. You and John Mayer should collaborate on something it would be epic.

  • @kcpd2050 Thank you!

  • you recorded with THE steve jordan? whoooaaa!!!! well then again you performed live and jammed with john mayer so, i guess i shouldnt be too surprised.

  • @MichaelDamaniMusic Thanks. Steve Jordan played track 7,8,9 on my cd PURE.

  • great as always. you've got some of the most tasteful grooves in the buisness. its really cool of you to put instructional vids on here for people like me that can't afford one on one lessons from a master teacher like you. thanks from all of us.

  • @whatsthebigfndeal Thank you so much! I am glad you feel that way.

    Tomo

  • Where is Steve?? Nice playing too!

  • @SaltyPenguinAHT Thank you!

    Tomo

  • This is brilliant!!

  • @Danielcschene Thank you so much!

    Tomo

  • steve's so awsome!! dont know you but ur badass!

  • Great playing man, very tasteful. Awesome tone too!

  • @rshull07 Thank you so much! Fender Black Face Pro Reverb & D'Pergo strat.

    Tomo

  • The thing i love the most about your playing is the fact that you never look at the fretboard. After i saw you do it, i'm been practicing doing it myself... following my ears heart instead of my eyes and mind.

  • @Simto Thank you. Most guitar players look the neck. You want to make a conversation with your guiitar so I look up. Try that and away from visual aspect of guitar playing. No worry about theory and scales. but you want to be able to hear degrees between phrases and chords. Practice to sing melody with less notes while you play bassline or groove. And it's only way to understand about your playing is to record yourself.

    Tomo

    Tomo

  • I simply cannot get enough of your playing Tomo. The mixed jazz and blues sound is amazing... I play this video over and over again! Beautiful work.

  • @1brannon10 Thank you so much! You know... I am a huge fan of Larry Carlton so I took my time to dig up old records to study. This is the result. Mix of blues & jazz. Thanks. Please check out my cd "PURE" ask your local radio station. Currently 125 radio stations are playing my cd here in America.

    Tomo

  • great playing and so beatifull sound!.could you please tell me Tomo, what kind of pickups you are using on this guitar? i am upgrading my strat soon. cheers:)

  • @viccelles Thank you! It's D'Pergo strat. Original pickups.

    Tomo

  • Tomo, you lucky dog! Such wonderful players to surround yourself with. And with your funk playing layered on top!

    Sugoi FUN-KAY desu yo!

  • @prfischer Thank you very much!

    Tomo

  • 1:14 - i recognize this melody, what tune is that?

  • @texbls sounds like Eleanor Rigby by the beatles lol

  • Yeah !!

  • Is that your studio?

  • Keep doing whatever it is you do, man! Straight up awesome!

  • Awesome Tomo...!!!! -Billy

  • @300guitars Thank you!

    Tomo

  • Tomo! so funky man! Wat are the chords at the beginning? i wish i could play rhythm like that.. O, and ur recording with Steve jordan and bernard purdie... DAMMNN. keep rockin man

  • @bimwopbarn Thank you! C#-7!

    Tomo

  • Hey Tomo, I've been watching your videos recently. And i've been absolutely loving your sound. It's amazing how you can come up with things like this. I have been on the guitar for around 3 years. But only started listening and learning to blues for the past half year. I've been trying get out of the same things that i play to fill in every single song that i hear. Mainly using the minor pentatonic. Any advice?

  • @deadbatteries1 Thank you so much! Listen to all great 50s, 60s blues. Do you have B.B.King's "Blues is King" "Live at Cook County Jail" "Live at the Regal" Listen these a lot ! You should prepare your performance skills and foundation skills. How about triads?

    Tomo

  • @TomoFujitaMusic Thanks for the reply. I certainly listen to B.B. King, but mostly just random videos on youtube. I should pick up a few of his cds/dvds and try to learn a couple of techniques off it. Thanks for the recommendation. As for triads, as embarassed as I am to say, I dont really know much theory so I wouldnt know how to fit them in. Or what it actually means. I watched your video on them though. Any idea where I could start on learning these, in terms of blues playing? Thanks again.

  • @deadbatteries1 You're welcome. If you have specific direction and time limit, then internet will help you a bit. Triads! Most important to part of what you are trying to do. If you are interested in... I have simple lesson material set. This will keep you busy next 2-3 years at least. Include blues listening list and others. Enjoy!

    Tomo

  • @TomoFujitaMusic Hey, thanks for the reply again. I think i'll watch your video on triads again and try to figure something out. Hmm, where can i get this lesson material set? And also, thanks for the suggestion of bb king cds. But I have a problem with listening out for notes and chords. For notes, i'll take minutes to try out all of them just to figure out one, and im even more hopeless at chords. Anything I can do?

  • @deadbatteries1 My Hot Set is discontinued. Thanks for asking.

  • @deadbatteries1 For blues playing. Listen to 3 B.B. King cds for 4-5 weeks. Shut your computer and cell phone!

    Tomo

  • @deadbatteries1 Thanks, Go to my website and email me about Hot set. I will get a lot lesson material together. These will last 3-4 years! You need to know intervals/degrees on notes, chords. You visualize too much! Pentatonic is great, but you are looking for sound or shapes? When you hear... you should be able to guess what sound is really playing. To do this, you need to work on your ear. Ear Training. Check out my instructional dvd AYGP, MAYGP. Google! Tomo

  • @TomoFujitaMusic Okay i will. Thanks alot! Sorry i have no idea what are intervals or degrees. Guess I have alot to learn still. As for the sound or shapes, I guess it is more of sound, but both at the same time. My knowledge of these things isnt very wide. And I cant even differentiate the sound of two strats. Thats how bad it is. But anyway, I'll drop you an email. Thanks!

  • @deadbatteries1 Great to hear that. If you have no idea... that's you need to fill... check out my new cd "Pure" it's pre-sale now and you can hear samples. I will put lesson material for you so that you won't miss all good important stuff. Thanks.

    Tomo

  • @deadbatteries1 Thank you so much! Check out other tunes on my website.

    Tomo

  • i will sing for you on the album!

  • What are your thoughts on single coil pickup boosters. Do you ever use any?

  • I don't know about what you are talking about.

  • Thank you! I love jazz and blues! Do you listen jazz at all?
