Just try getting a SIM-Free, European version i9000, which is technically the same phone, but without the annoying, proprietary stuff on it from local providers like Bell or others. Remember unlocked, does not mean free of provider pre-programming!
Is it still bell mobility exclusive? I have never dealt with Bell Mobility but i absolutely hated Bell as an internet provider; Videotron has been far superior in that regard. In fact, i would have go with Videotron if it wasn't for their total lack of top tier devices other than the Nexus One. I would much rather go with the Samsung Galaxy S.
just bought mine today i love the way you can navigat the whole phone just by speaking into the phone. just hit the speaker button on right by the google search say into the phone send text my send text pops up hit the speaker for to say who ever then hit speaker again for the text and say what i want to send and poof its there and ready to send
@centfla I have the phone. There is a T-Mobile Signature just under the part where you listen to in calls. That little line, his looks like it says Samsung, but they chanegd it to samsung at the bottum and T-Mobile at the top.
how come the other samsung galaxy s vibrant has 4 buttons? are there different versions? i mean i know there's captivate, evo 4g etc but aren't they different in terms of looks? am i missing something?
Hi "Ass Man," lol. it's very close but I'd still have to say the iPhone 4 is a better phone overall. There are pros and cons of Android vs. iPhone, but this phone is quite amazing.
@assmanlarry I just bought this phone and am happy that I bought it over the iphone 4. Although, if you do plan on getting this phone, make sure the recovery mode and download mode works. I had to exchange my first one for one that has those modes working.
So you said it is a solid iPhone 4 competitor, but you didn't actually say which one you preferred. Seeing you own both devices, I would really like to know which one you prefer.
The 4 inch is the perfect compromise between screen real estate and portability. The iPhone's 3.5 is just too small. The EVO's 4.3 is just too big. The Galaxy S's 4.0 is just perfect.
No, it's not with T-Mobile. This phone is with Bell Mobility in Canada. But yes, it's the same phone as the i9000, but I prefer to call a phone by their product name rather than model number, ya know? But yes, good observation, it's the same phone.
Hi Gleboff, yep, same thing. I don't call it by it's numeric model number (yawn), but by the name of the consumer product: the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant.
@2010gameguy Actually it's not. If you find it anywhere Vibrant is not a part of the name. You'll find the "vibrant" at telus underneath the name "fascinate"
The iPhone 4 screen is also very, very nice. It's a bit smaller than the Galaxy S (by half an inch) but the contrast is comparable. The iPhone 4's screen also has greater pixel density than the Samsung phone, but both are beautiful.
would you still perfer someone to buy this today???

DistraughtYouth: You are 100 percent correct. I incorrectly stated it had a LED flash. I confused it with another Samsung Android model.

Heya Marc. Just thought I'd point out a small booboo in your video. It's nothing massive, but it may mislead people.
This phone does in fact have a 5.0mp Camera, however there is NO flash. Sadly you're reduced to the internal controls and night mode.

Just wondering if you could assist me in setting up my Vibrant to connect to my broadband which requires input of user-id and password.

It does not appear that there is a Tmobile Logo on that phone. I believe gleboff is correct.

hey Marc, saw this in Best Buy this afternoon..... I was drooling over the high res of the screen..... yup, you gotta see this screen to believe it.
Question.... is the iPhone's 4 screen as nice as this one ? ... Apple says it's 4x as good as the iPhone 3x ... so I'm just curious.
