I just started watching Lost and I'm halfway through season one. Being a fan of the X-Files series, I'm really enjoying the mystery and the weirdness in the show. Makes it a hell of a lot more interesting.
Especially with the episode that just aired "This Place is Death"... this all makes sense now, this clip is actually showing jack when he finds a way back to the island. Well, right up until 2:12, then it shows Jack as he crashed on the island with the plane.
If the writers were thinking THIS ahead since the pilot, then holy crap, props to them
Jack happens to be wearing the same tie he had when he crashed and he came back to the island? He have the tie in his pocket the whole time in the helicopter before the island disappeared?
If u compare the two scenes side by side u will notice that they are completely different. Jack wears a white shirt in the pilot, and a light blue shirt in 316. Jack's tie is also darker in 316, altho they have the same pattern. Finally in 316, Jack does not have any cuts on his face. The two scenes have many parallels with each other, however they are not the same
and....jack has on a navy suit when he is laying on the ground and then clearly has a black suit on when he is at the site of the plane crash, ive watched this episode many times and i do think jack finds a way back to the island. and that thing by jacks head is ben's baton he had with him whenever he time traveled.
okay ppl. i really hope this doesn't spoil anything but heres what. look on the right side of jacks shoulder as the camera goes on top of him, recognize that black cylinder? it looks exactly like the thing that ben had in his pocket when he teleported to the desert
and look how when jack runs out to the beach he doesnt hear anything but then he pivots around and then you hear the crash. can the first couple of seconds until the camera pivots be how jack gets back to the island ?
doubt it very much, the writers didn't start planning the shows main story until after the 2 hour pilot, and were making it up as they went along until the second half of season 3
well, its definitely got something to do with time, so a time machine is on the island, in the orchid, i have no idea how season 5 will turn out, guess we will have to wait
wow thats crazy. i seriously doubt it just cuz i dont think that Darlton was thinking that far ahead, but if they somehow saw ur comment (haha just kidding) and used that it would be crazy and i would completely credit you.
That's what I've been thinking for a while... There's no other reason why he would've landed so far away from the crash in the begining. I"m almost positive you're right because that's waht I've been thinking forever.
how it began and how it ended.

Last scene in Lost is similar to this. Its the same place, the same dog but Jack closes hes eyes instead of opening them.
And than it is over. No more Lost.

What about the fact that something resembling Ben's baton is laying in right next to jack on right side of his face?

Thanks for this. A friend of mine has a theory based on the season 3 finale and this part of the pilot.
