Rahat is definately a Ustaad. He can sing pure classical as well pop songs. I have heard many Ustaads who tried to singh light songs but were besura at some points. What the point in knowing 100 raagas but can not sing one simple song

Guys first you need to understand when a singer goes beyond the level of being called just a simple singer. RFAK not only a good versatile singer, he is definitely a well deserver with the title USTAD. You have no clue what this guy is capable of doing with music and his voice.

I beg to differ with you. Please don't label him as Ustad prematurely. He is nowhere close to be called Ustad. He is good no doubt. But for an Ustad it is a different level. Just listen to Ustaf Fateh Ali Khan perfom Raag Jonpuri, Bhim Plasi or the famous Nan so nain milaye rakhne ko.

@srafiquemd i agree with you partially but this is because he drifted into some indian meaning less song. wherease nusrat bhai concentrated into pure classical. rahat does have the capacity to go bigger and become a ustad
