  • NIITROUS SOLENOID STUCK OPEN STALLED MOTOR......KEPT PUTTING NITROUS INTO INTAKE WHEN HE TRIED 2 FIRE IT AGAIN IT BACKFIRED FN SHAME NICE CAR

  • Well we know why its called the Executioner....

  • Comment removed

  • That done "BLOWED-UP" REEL GOOD!!

Watch the exhaust loading up and the vapor cloud forming in front of the scoop for several seconds before....

  • Happens at 1:20

  • Got Nos>? LOL!!!

  • by looking at the scene you could see pure nitrous coming out the scoop intake, that intake manifold was also full of nitrous and all it takes is one spark to ignite it, one huge big inch motor one giant explosion,, damn! what ever happen to that crewman that got hurt? hope he ok.

  • godd job getting the bottle off, by the way, has anyone seen my hood scoop?

  • yup! Ironically the previous day, and this day the announcer was constantly having to tell people to clear the start area. Way too many people were in the area from time to time. Needless to say this is all it took to keep the area clear.

  • what happened is when the crew member opened the bottles and the driver purged the system the usual think to do is bring the car up on the converter and not let the car load up. the solenoid stayed open and the driver shut the car down but with the new ignition controllers there is still power in them and when he turned the ignition off it caused a plug to fire in a cylinder with an intake valve open causing a fine to blow the manifold off the car thats the only way to do that

  • is get fire in the manifold from somewhere otherwise it would have blew the heads off the block which we see are still there. there was only one way that it got fire in the manifold thats why I stick to the whipple twin screw blowers

  • explosion started in the exhaust, he never shut it down, it sounded like it but was actually idling very low. You can see frame-by-frame on my facebook page (shot at 30fps)

  • what is your face book page i would like to see that, because as an engine builder and tuner there is only on way to get fire in the manifold and that's an intake valve or spring broke allowing the fire to travel up and out. the force of the explosion will push the remaining intake valves down to travel through the cylinders through the exhaust. also you wouldn't have the nitrous pouring from the scoop it would be sucking it into the engine resulting it big pops and bangs from the headers at low

  • @sc2958 so does that mean youre saying the fog comming out of the scoop was not nitrous?? i may be confused...

  • rpm's because you have to flow your fuel to nitrous pressure to stop it from leaning out burning up the pistons ect.

  • Ive seen tis once before the one I know of it looks like he was Purgeing through the motor (clears the lines ahead of the solenoids) and the relay or circut went bad causing the Nitrous solenoid to stay open.

  • dude u got an awesome view!

  • The guy who was holding his elbow deserves a raise. The first thought he had after reeling from the concussion of the explosion was to dive BACK into the car and help the driver get out.

  • @DracoOne Yea, pretty awesome. Alot better than the photographer just standing next to it snapping pictures.

  • so the lesson is when u see nitros come out of a blower, hit the ground quick!! (At least quicker then the guy in blue)

  • the guy who was standing at the left hand rear of the car had his lucky undies on that day... u can slow mo and see a piece of the manifold/carbies fly by his head... amazing to see... scared the shit out of me behind a computer, cant imagine what it would of been like for real!!

  • ....... That explosion completely separated the intake from the block.

This is the exact reason I don't like ppl hanging around that area who are not suppose to be there.

  • for the next....let the driver do the switches, check the video,PROBABLY...pitman mistake...!!!!!!!

  • It looked like he said it wont purge? In The video (on my computer) I can see nitrous coming out of the scoop slightly Before he tried the switch (or whatever he hit) as soon as it stopped revving..

  • Also, nitrous oxide itself does not burn, so there must have been unburnt fuel building up.

  • Thanks for getting this on video. We were there, it scared the crap out of us!

  • Much respect to the guy willing to go back in while it was on fire and help the situation. Sheepdog.

  • that scared the shit out of me. i was walking to the stands and just when i get there i look at the track and i see the fuckin executioner blow up.

  • DAM GOOD HD video!!!!....Best footage I have seen from the Shakedown.....If it looks this good on youtube can you guys imagine how UNBELIEVABLE it looks on an HD TV straight from the camcorder or put on a Blu Ray disc. WOW!!!

  • or 1:25 rather, sorry

  • what kind of camera do you use.. it has a beaultiful picture.. man, freeze it at 1:26

makes a killer picture... glad everyone was ok

  • Thanks! It's a Sony HDR-SR12 high def with dolby 5.1 surround. Also a cheap stabilizer.

  • What do you mean by "also a cheap stabilizer"?

  • damnnnn!

  • Wow, the selinoids stuck wide open? Holy shit that was some serious camera work. A good nitrous boom can be like a kick in the nuts and you barely flinched.

  • WOW!

  • how is lil jeff now is he brunt

  • Props to you EXCELLENT FOOTAGE!!!Wonder why it took sooo long for someone to kill the power........

  • Thanks man! Yeah.. the only thing I can guess is everyone was stunned.. I felt like I got punched in the chest. But that needs to be someones Job..live and learn. LUCKY no one got a serious burn or shrapnel

  • it sucks seeing that happen to your dad and brother.. good thing i didnt go

  • that scared me when i was thier
