I agree, it's one of my all time favorite cities. I always feel like I've stepped back in time a century or more when I visit. It's a place I go back to again and again.
Charleston is lovely. It is so refreshing and pleasing to the senses in knowing that not everything must make way.The preservation of this city and others are a intentional must.
How can we understand the present, if we do not understand the past, when our very present is made from the past? The moment is fleeting, but the past and the present of the soon to be past...remains.
thanks dennis, charleston is a shit hole with homos like fat boy cartman here! everyone is over weight and look retarded! gene pool runs a little thin down south i see! lmfao!
i was raised in charleston till 10-this reminds me of home. =( people expect a redneck when they meet me or something but they have obviously never been to charleston. i love architecture, old gravesites are not scary to me at all, weeping willows, oak trees (OMG have you seen the angel oak.) charleston is like a small town/historic southern city-i really miss the market/azaela park and pubs. i gained weight when i moved to nc-grr-cant ride bike anywhere!loved the song to vid too! good job
Thank you. Most of these photos were taken while bike touring the city. That's the best way to see Charleston in my opinion, by bike. This is my favorite city!
My name is Ralph from FDNY House 252. I was one of the firefighters in the 911 attacks and this was a e mail that someone that represents your city sent to me. His name was scconservative and has videos of your city there. He has deleted his account but will have a new one soon. Please help me find him
SCCONSERVATIVE Email written to me: The only good thing about 9/11 was the fact that your fag buddies died in those towers screaming like the bitches that they are. Fuck New York, and Fuck YOu
In Memory of the 9 Brave firefighters 7.who lost their lives here in Charleston in June 2007. Today it was announced that the section of Highway in front of the Sofa Super store will be renamed from historic Savannah Highway to now be named Charleston 9 Memorial Highway.
You are so lucky! I always bring a bike with me when I visit Charleston. That way, I can stop any time I see something interesting I want to photograph.
I think you should take a walk along the Battery & do a little shopping at the market downtown. Magnolia Gardens is beautiful - but I suggest going in the morning because the afternoon heat will be unbearable. Also, take a ride on one of the Fort Sumter boat trips. Have a great time!
For history buffs and old world charm, downtown Charleston is a must and the Charleston Aquarium is truly awesome. Visit Boon Hall Plantation just north of Mt. Pleasant off 17. Middleton Place Gardens and Magnolia Plantation are a photographers paradise. Visit Angel Oak, a 1,500 year old live oak tree considered to be the oldest living thing east of the Rockies. It's trunk and branches are massive.
Charleston was beautiful. The people need to check themselves before they wreck themselves.
