join a club for £400 a year, it wld then be about £20 a flight, once you done 30 hours u can fly solo, wich means all by your self, why is that so hard ?

@111alien111 30 hours for flying a solo? I looks a bit too much for me...I mean I made my first solo after 7 hours (and about 30 flights)...that is the time sufficient to make you able to fly a traffic pattern...then you have to make longer flights with your flight instructor or more experienced glider pilots to develop your soaring skills :)

@Devine5496 I suggest you to start with gliders...true pilots fly gliders first, and then airplanes :)

So I reccomend flying Rc airplanes. Get a good one and it really does feel great. :)

What does it cost to buy a glider like the one you have?

@kell490 Well, the gliders I fly are club gliders, but depending on its condition such a glider would cost probably between 13.000 and 70.000 €.

I am 15 years old and I will be going solo when I am 16 in January annd it is videos and photos like the ones on here that made me take up gliding and I can honestly say it is the best sport on the planet, your video is incredible. And as for the registration.... brilliant!!! Hope you have some more incredible flights like these soon.

Sadly it's hard to have access to here in western Washington. Bit of adrive to get to from where i live, and the club that is avaliable is all volunteer based where the instructors only come as they please, and on a first-come-first-serve basis, so its a challenge to get some flight itme.

Got some great experiences though, first glider solo, spin recover, aerobatics, off-field landing, etc. but they were far in between and too little.

@wallace84st Yeah it's attached to my cap with velcro. The camera only weighs about 100 grams if i remember correctly, and that doesn't bother me at all. So it is definitely not uncomfortable to wear in my opinion ;)

@poelaertpieterjan Hey, I'm glad you liked it. Acctually I have just attached it to a cap with som velco. It's working quiet well. To some of the recordings I've attached the camera to the side of the canopy by use of a suction cup mount, which you can buy at the store where you buy the camera.
