you know this isn't just unique to hong kong/china. i use to follow my mom to the asian supermarket when i was a kid and the butcher there will pick up a fish from the tank and kill it in front of you too. i use to help my mom choose the fish from the tank. not a big deal at all.

In my country we Anglers kill our fish with a sharp whack on the head with an instrument known as a "Priest" it's woooden about 9'' to 10'' long with a metal end for added impact, it's a very humane way to kill fish.

I understand PETA's concern about animal consumption. I also understand that people evolved to eat other animals and animals are part of human diet and culture.
