The use of children in conflicts is illegal under international law. The land belongs to Israel, because (a) they were part of the League of Nations Mandate which created the "JEwish National Home" west of the Jordan river, and (b) they were parts of Jordan and Egypt that came under Israeli control in a defensive war. The inhabitants of those areas are not sovereign. Private property must be respected, but non-private land are open to Jewish settlement, in accordance to the League of Nations.

There was never any violence from any member of the village of Al-Walaja people. The two thousand villagers will now be surrounded by a wall on all sides and separated from their land. The fire damaged many plants, including olive trees. The anarchists and arabs planned to blame Israel for the fire but were caught on film and were unable to continue with their plot.

The suspects are Katifu’s husband, his brother, his cousin, and two men from Ramle. One of the men from Ramle was released by the court to house arrest, but police have launched an appeal against the decision at the Petah Tikva District Court, and he will remain in custody until a decision is made on the appeal.
