I have to say I agree with everything he said. Bad Brains have taken back the shit they said.
Kids are amazing. Had a girlfriend who had a child (not mine) and I loved both of them. They really are amazing. About to be 23 I am ready for my own and my own family. May have been dumped by her since her family pushed her to have the perfect family image and made her go back to her cheating ex, but w.e
Ceremony and Paint It Black are two of my favorite hardcore punk bands around now. Miss GR.
He is the coolest guy in hardcore. My old band played a show with Paint It Black back in 2007 in Indy. He kept complimenting us and telling us to stick to it, and how he thought we had a shot of getting signed. We broke up a year later. lol
i totally agree 100000% ITS FUCKED UP HOW THE FEW PEOPLE COULD BE SO GOD DAMM UNCOOL !! JUST REMEMBER ONE THING PEOPLE COULD SAY JUDGE OPINIONATE TO ANOTHER PERSON! BUT THAT PERSON WILL NEVER EVER HAVE DONE ONE THING WALKED THEIR PATH!!
Fuck yeah Dan! I see so many people cross that line between aggression and violence at shows. The sad part is that they are so transparent and just spoiling for a fight that you can spot them before the music even starts. When you start using music as a front for violence you aren't respecting the band or the people around you.

I love paint it black and kid d, lifetime what have you but dan yemin shut the fuck up if someone is offended by words then you're a pussy....but keep making good music
@Radlejuice Tolstoy**...and you should read both literature and politics. Literature should help inform our political views, political books help us understand politics.
Everything he said about hardcore is true, but I think the most saddest thing of all is that 95% of the hardcore bands out there just don't give a shit whatsoever.
For most intensive purposes hardcore has lost its status as a counter culture because many of the bands involved simply don't take any actions to "counter" anything.
On a side note, watch some interviews with the band Pulling Teeth. They kinda come from the same place as Dan Yemin.
dan yemin is a complete legend. agree with pretty much everything he said. at a show in manchester the other month he went round the whole crowd at the end of the show and shook are hands and thanked us for coming. thats what punk and hardcore should be about.
He's got a good brain.

Read literature, and not those political books. Read Tolsoi, and not Chomsky.

i appreciate the stuff he's trying to say about homophobia. but 'people of colour?'. christ haha.
still love yemin though
willthebighead 3 years ago
i mean, referring to non whites as 'coloured' isn't factually (let alone politically) correct
