Lloyd's teams played in so many close games (compared to Bo or Moeller) and won most of them. Michigan usually was the better team in the second half.
More importantly, Lloyd was always a complete class act and never had any scandals or violations. There is nobody else who I would have rather had coach the Michigan football team for those 13 years.

It is also a FACT Michigan finished tied for last place in the Big 10.

Lloyd Carr did beat Florida in his final game as Michigan coach!
Carr had a 5-1 record vs John Cooper when Cooper coached Ohio State. Carr never lost to Penn State after the '96 season.
Carr may not have been the best coach in college football, but he wasn't bad.
