  • Hi! I'm Indonesian and I'm planning to get my surgery in SGH too.. Can u tell me.. How much does the surgery cost? And how many days must I spend at the hospital after having the surgery? Hope u reply :) I really need the info.. :)

  • @LadyJessicaJane Hi! We spent around SGD$40,000 for the hospital bills. I stayed in the hospital for a week.

  • It's been 3 months since i've had my surgery how long did it take your spine to be as flexible as it used to because i'm still a bit stiff ?

    Hope you reply xxxx

  • @xxlilpinkeexx Hi. My spine is not that flexible like it used to be. But I could still turn and twist, but not fully. Wait for another month.

  • Are you a chinese-filipina?

  • @StevenTalks1 yes I am! :D

  • Gusto ko na rin mag pa OP. Sa ngayon po kasi nsa 47 deg ung curve ng likod ko, i was diagnosed when i was 12 pa with 18 degrees lang. Im 17 now. Nag papa-chiropractor ako, is that good po ba? or hindi? Saan po ba best na hospital for surgery dito sa philippines? I will wait for the replies po. thank you po :)

  • @MegaGb01 hi! nagpapachiro din ako before pero wala din masyadong nangyari maybe because my spine was matured? I'm not sure. I think it would help a little, but hindi talaga sya didiretso. I would suggest cardinal santos in wilson or St. lukes. :D tc!

  • Oh my gosh! I'm having my surgery in Singapore too(: My mum is from Phillipines(:

  • Hey! im about to get surgery... so you don't feel like a robot or anything? you're happy that you got the surgery?

  • @MissGypsySoul hi! no, I don't feel like a robot and yes, I'm happy that I had the surgery. Good luck to you.

  • hey there, my name is Princess Mariel im 13 years old soon 14 in about 26 days i have scoliosis and i use braze,, we just talked to the doctor a few days ago and he says that my braze aint helping so he is recomending a surgery, when i heard him say that i started tearing up i was so scared, he understod that it was some shocking news for me,,,, and i am still scared, but after reading all the positiv things i do want a surgery instead of using a braze for 3-4 years and my mom is a filipina to

  • @princessmariel14 sorry to hear that you have to undergo a surgery. But I'll tell, it's not that bad at all. I'm happy that I had the surgery. And I also had wore a brace and never liked it. It didn't help at all.

  • REPOSTED) Hi, my name is Amy Bruce. I am 7 years old and I have severe lung cancer. I also have a large tumor in my brain, from repeated beatings. Doctors say I will die soon if this isn't fixed and my parents can't pay the bills. The Make A Wish foundation, has agreed to donate 7 cents for every time this message is sent along. For those of you who sent this along I thank you so much, but for those of you who didn't, have a heart and repost this. <3 <3 <3 <3

  • @Evanesence666 I'm so sorry to hear what happened. Where are you from?

I am tempted to become overly worried and afraid, but this will not help as she needs strong people around her right now as she is very anxious and scared about the operation..

Thank you for sharing your experience,

You truly are the Thrilla In Manilla ;)

  • @666Desolate999 omg!!! I'm so sorry for the late response!!! How was your sister's surgery? I hope everything went well! wow, she's so lucky to have you as her sister and likewise. Don't worry to much, because I'm sure she'll be alright.

  • @crezeldaanna probably a slight scoliosis, but you don't need to worry about it. But if you want to make sure, visit your orthopedic. :D

  • i have to do this operation this summer 27th of june, i'm scared and all, but one thing, could you wash yourself or did the nurses had to wash you? (i don't want nurses to wash me <-- having problems with that) xxx

  • Hi. Im from Bicol. Im sure you know where that is. :)

Anyways, I also have a scolio. And it was discovered when I was 13 yrs of age.

Im now 16 and Im scared to have a surgery. :|

Does it take a year to recover from surgery?

  • @MsCessLove hi there! yes, I know Bicol :D No, it would not take a year to recover! I was walking in the mall after 2 weeks! I think after 2 months, you'll be all good! back to normal life!

  • Hi. Im from Bicol. Im sure you know where that is. :)

Anyways, I also have a scolio. And it was discovered when I was 13 yrs of age.

Im now 16 and Im scared to have a surgery. :|

Does it take a year to recover from surgery?

  • Your video is one of the best one I saw so far, many are out date and unclear about what the patient can do years after their surgery. Is your a unit rod? Thanks for sharing.

  • @WalkingdanMom Hi there! My doctor told me that he put 2 titanium rods and 12 screws. :D

  • @magickho The Unit Rod I referred to is also made with titanium; however without screws. Thank you so much for your replay. It was so good to see you recovered so soon after your surgery and without further complication and able to resume all your normal activity. =D’s -_-*.

  • Thank you! Also, I now have a 3 month healthy baby with normal delivery lamaze (means no anaesthesia)

  • @magickho WOW that's great. Congratuations!

  • Thanks alot for putting this video up, it gives me some idea of what its going to be like when I get my surgery in the summer lol.

  • Your lucky, they had me walking the next day after my operation. It was not the best feeling in the world at all.

  • thankyou so much for this video this really helped me becuase im 13 and have a 58 degree curviture of the spine and so worried about my operation that i am having, would you recommend having the operation ??

  • @meginbmth I would definitely recommend it. If you don't have the surgery now, in the long run, it'll hurt so much that you can't even sleep or walk properly. :D Good Luck! Hope everything will turn out well for you.

  • Hy! :) My name is Andi, and I'm from Hungary. :) I had scoliosis and surgery too! :) Your back is so nice now!!! :) And the video is really good! :)

  • no way! my bday is also on the 25 of may & i also have scoliosis!

  • does metal implant set off metal detectors in airport?

  • Hello, My name is Chelsea Kemp. & I went through this same surgery, in November 20th, of 2009. I was in way more pain then you for some reason, The medicine would not get me out of pain. And They made me stand up and walk AND sit up in the chair. I was in soo much pain, and I cried my eyes out for days because It was endless pain. If anyone has questions I don't mind answering. I'm still even in pain till this day. Message my Youtube and I'll get back to you. I'm glad you had a good surgery,

  • Hi :D

I'm having my surgery on february 7th but i'm going to the hospital one day before to get to know the staff and I hope there will be someone in my age there i can talk to.

How was the surgery to you?? When you sat the first time did it hurt much?? or when you walked, stood and woke up from surgery?? My doctor told me that i will have a lot of pain the first days so........ i'm not happy about it :P It would really help if you anwerd because i'm really scared!! And how fast did you heal?

  • @izaabeellaa Good for you that your gonna have your surgery. My surgery went really great. The first time I sat isn't bad at all. I just felt really dizzy coz I was lying for 2 days. But it depends on how you'll handle the pain. Just take it slowly. My advise to you is to request morphine or any pain killer before you walk or the first time you'll sit up! Good luck!

  • hey,I had scoliosis surgery in '06...it was the most painful experience of my life...you look so cheery and able to do so much even after the first day. I was bedridden for 10 days because my lung started to collapse so I had to stay at the hospital longer...how the heck did you do this video without crying hysterically in pain?! the walking around part was the worst part of the day for me... so what exactly did they do in your surgery??

  • @supergirlx314 hi! I'm sorry to hear that. I just wish that all who undergone this kind of surgery went smoothly like mine. They put 2 titanium rods and 12 screws on my back.

  • HI. I'm 13 and This video really helped me. I was super afraid for my surgery. My brother had scoliosis and he said that it was horrible, but you know how boys can be. haha But this video really gave me confidence & faith to know that It will be ok. I Wore a back brace for 3 years. But it didn't work. My surgery is set for February 14, 2011. I really don't want to have it, because I will be out of school for a while. But that's ok I'll just take it one step at a time. :)

  • @gottakickitup24 what a brave girl! I know it's gonna be hard leaving school. But I'm sure everyone will miss you at school. Just do your best recuperating after the surgery and you'll be back in no time! i hope everything will go on smoothly!!! Good luck! :D

  • hi ppl , if any1 has any questions feel free to emal me at scoliosisspine@yahoo.com

im not a doctor or anything just a person whos gone through the surgery and wants to help others! :) thx

  • Did they have any concerns because of you age?

  • @flory84 no not at all! :D

  • how long would it take for the scar to go completely away???

  • @smw0027 I'm sorry dear, but the scar would never go away. I will fade a little but the scar would be still there.

  • i just found out i have scoliosis, and i am so scared,

did it hurt when you started to walk after?

im so scared to have this surgery.

can u give me some advice please x

  • @ShazzyCakess i had my surgery 12 days ago, it does not hurt when you are walking. it feels great to stand up but you can feel a bit dizzy. when you stand up, try to stamp on the spot you're standing on (sry for my bad english) and it feels so much better. i had a 52 and a 58 degree curves, and now im almost straight. good luck with ur surgery and when it feels worse, think about that its worth the pain and it will only get better :)

  • @ShazzyCakess don't be scared girl. It hurt a bit for mine. But it's all on the mindset and how you'll handle it. My advise is to take pain killer before getting up to lessen the pain. But it's not that bad at all. :D

  • very inspirational! thanks for sharing the video!

  • I'm 12 and my degrees are top: 69 and bottom 34! I'm going to have my surgery on December 2nd, so what can you suggest?

  • @bjhay11 hi! yes, madami na din dito sa Philippines na nagpapasurgery. I think it cost us almost mga 1.5m peso. If dito naman sa Manila, around 800k ata. I'm not so sure. Better ask around sa mga ortho :D
