  • how do you sanitize the brush heads?

  • Can you please let me know how you disinfect and clean your olay pro x brush every day? How do you store it, and can it be used in the shower or do you not recommend that?

  • My skin is ten times better now that I have been using the olay brush.

  • wtf your pillow ?

  • great video! I'm going to buy the olay Prox tomorrow!

  • WTF is up with that pillow?? :0

  • OMG ! No one notice the pillow behind her :O smokes comes out from that pillow

  • @Zotibuchi LMAO at these comments about the pillow

  • Do yourself a favor everybody and dont listen to the scare tactics used by other people. Microscoptic tears in your skin DO NOT cause long term damage. Dermatologist are using Micro Needle Rollers on people's faces and are sending clients home with them. They are literally paint rollers covered in needles ranging in 2-3mm in length. Microtears help build collagen over time and do not cause you to age prematurely.

  • Is "Philosophy's Purity" cleanser any good?

  • around 11 seconds there's a orb that movies near the dark green pillow

  • how do you disinfect your brush heads & how do you take care of your system well ?

  • english, do you speak it? summary of your review: "i'm not an expert on skincare. i like this one (no visual given). it (still unsure which you're referring to) works almost as well, doesn't clean skin but it's better (huh?). it's pulsating and vibrates but doesn't rotate, like a floor buffer (common item for comparison). i like it, but i don't really like it even though (w.t.f.). it has buttons that turn it on or adjusts stuff." Please: which one is better to clean my glorious face?

  • Do you apply this every day?

  • Buy rechargeable batteries ladies. Have two sets so that you have a quick replacement when you need it. I recommend Energizer ( silver and green sticker ) ; )

  • I also bought the clarisonic and I freak out when I broke down b/c I've never had that problem , however I continue to use it for another week , 2 weeks later my skin is glowing , in my opinion it's worth the money and it is $120 at sephora ;)

  • Omg! Weirdo orb on ir pillow at :17!!!!

  • thanks for the review saved me money!!!

  • did you try using it a week longer after you started breaking out or did you just stop using it once you started breaking out?

  • I went to school for aesthetics.when she talks about "pushing up" shes refurring to purging. Before your skin gets better it can sometimes go through purging when impurities surface and then your skin gets better. However if your break outs persist after useing mechanical exfoliation it is likely because its to abrassive for your skin which can cause break outs. These brushes are supose to replicate brushes used durring facials.

  • u shudnt exfoliate ur skin everyday, NOR Shud u exfoliate to remove makup, its just goin to PUSH the makup into ur skin. Remove makup w/gentle cleanser or makup wipes 1st, then exfoliate. Never Never Never have Makup on ur skin when u exfoliate with any type of exfoliating cleansor, or brush. U will break out.

  • Why not buy rechargeable batteries ? I ALWAYS use those !:)

  • @sugarbunnie97 wow good eye lol

  • You "broke out" because your skin was irritated. It's similar to an allergic reaction. It's not acne, it's irritation.

  • Maybe the clarisonic Mia isn't good but the classic plus and pro are better

  • @akmudd23 is there a big difference ?? I'm thinking of getting the mia one

  • @akmudd23 Waste of money. I have a $2 brush that is the same thing, it just doesn't vibrate or move. Instead, my hand does the moving. Same results, but I think the Clarisonic can be worse, in the sense that it's too harsh because you can't control the movement of the bristles. With the brush I have, all I have to do is massage my skin a lot slower and lighter. It removes dead skin cells and minimizes pores and removes blackheads.

Whoever decided to charge $100+ for this is a jackass.

  • very true on the logic. a lot of ladies are ignorant! hehe you should go to soompi and read all the topics there it's ridiculous at how many dumb stuff they talk about on there :/ but yay! good review! too bad I already bought the clarisonic FML

  • @ninabenz419 Try putting it thru the dishwasher. Removable toothbrush heads can go thru, these heads might be able to as well.

  • OMG am I the only one who noticed that strange ORB on her grey pillow at 0:17. reply if you see it too. Thats freaky....

  • @SugarBunnie97 I think she has a white cellingfan that is casting light.

  • does the clairisonc help with wrinkles?

  • I bought the olay today tried it once n can see a big difference in my skin

  • Do u feel like the olay is better than the clairasonic

  • This is a very biased review.

  • I've had the Olay for like 5-6 months and it's lasted me all this time on the same set of batteries!

  • Ok, I have been an Aesthetician for almost six years and will not recommend the Olay ProX because you NEVER want a rotary brush head since it will put micro-tears in your skin where bacteria can form that leads to pre-mature aging. The Clarisonic is an investment, the better buy and worth the money.

  • @fabesthetics1985 Doesn't the Clarisonic's head rotate in the center?

  • @Krysb107 Nope..it just vibrates sonically!

  • @fabesthetics1985 do u recommend the neutragena microdermabrasion??? Im really trying to find a good cleanser but on a budget. Please let me know :)

  • @fabesthetics1985 how is there a difference if you are also dragging the brissels across your skin with the clarisonic, too? im trying to find whats healthiest for my skin, so thanks!

  • @lushiee13 That's what I was thinking. How is is different, really?

  • @fabesthetics1985 Thanks for the info. ;-)

  • @fabesthetics1985 I'm thinking anything be it a Clarisonic, Olay Prox, facial pouf, hand held facial brush, rag, or sponge definitely all have the same potential to cause tears & small lacerations in the skin when ( that specific product / is ) not used correctly. Regardless of what you use to wash your face when it's a physical/manual method you are to observe what level of pressure to be using. I would agree if we were talking about sharper, rougher bristles. Like from a broom.

  • @fabesthetics1985 Those that're dragging the Clarisonic ( prolly 80% of users ) are possibly causing more damage or risk of bacteria/infection than whatever percentage of Olay Prox users who are being gentle, aware that it feels scratchy when applied too roughly. I'm not a skin expert, i'm just considering the basic science behind friction. Hope I have seemed offensive or snide at all, it's not my intent. I'm just a inquisitive girl. Take care.

  • @fabesthetics1985 Could I ask for some free advice? :)

I haven't used either of these products, but I have "marks" on my skin that I thought were some kind of tears. I see them when I look up close in the mirror. I just wondered can anything be done to repair the type of tearing that you mentioned?

Thank you for considering my question!

  • @fabesthetics1985 Although there is some truth in what you said, it isn't exclusive to the rotation. Anything "dragged" on the skin can cause irratation, including the clarisonic, wash rags, and yes, even hands. It isn't so much about rotation as much as it is pressure used. The Olay brush heads are more soft than most cleansing systems of its type. That in combo with pressure, degree of power behind the machine make it ideal for use. And the price makes it more accessable.

  • @fabesthetics1985 so dose the clarisonic and hands!

  • @fabesthetics1985 what about the neutrogena waves? are those dangerous? there are two kinds: the new ones spins and the older ones just vibrate (one has two speeds, the original just had one speed). there isn't a brush, it's just little disposable pads you put on the end of it.

  • Thank you! I was hesitating about buying Clarisonic because I have sensitive skin. Now I'm thinking about buying Olay instead. I do have different kinds of rechargeable batteries at home so I guess the battery issue won't bother me a lot...

  • thanks so much for this video!! i was going to invest in the clarisonic but now i feel convinced that the olay prox will be a much better purchase for me!

  • I have two questions, what cleanser do you use whit the Olay, and how to you clean the brush its self ? THANKS

  • Thank you for sharing this! I was completely in debate to shell out that kind of cash as a new mommy and not working, i need something basic, so I think based on this I will try the Olay

  • The Clarisonic pretty much destroyed my skin. I got the Olay one before the Clarisonic. Had no probs with the Olay one. I should have left well enough alone!

  • i dont get what the hype is about clarisonic...

  • I'm having a MAC/NARS Sale!! Watch the video!!

  • is there any coupons or offers for it in the store or website?

  • I have a clarisonic plus. I would never in a million years buy the olay cleaner thing. I just think my clarisonic works really well for my skin and it's so clear and soft :)

  • @Stephersxo Agreed! You pay for what you get, & frankly Clarisonic is built to last. I <3 my plus, and wouldn't trade it either. I would seriously still be a pizza face without it haha =D

  • I love this video so much. Thank you for the review. So helpful !!!!

  • recharge your batteries!!!!

  • Your video actually helped me realized that an Olay Pro X brush I bought off Ebay was actually set to high setting and I think that is the reason why my delicate, sensitive skin became so irritated and red after using it. I thought it would be set to low on default since the seller said it's brand new. So thank you... I'm going to give it another go and see if it'll work out for me again this time on low setting.

  • Hey Gina! SO which one do you use more now?

  • Sigma just came out with one thats about the same price as the Olay, i really cant decide which to get! any help any one! ;)

  • @ilybaltazar89 Looking at the pictures of the brush head on the sigma one, it looks a lot more chunky and taller bristles than the olay. I have the olay and I really do love it. The brush heads are very soft and affordable, about 10 dollars for 2 brush heads. However I am getting the clarisonic because my Aunty doesnt use it so she is giving it to me. Depends on which brush head you like. I also hate ordering things like that online because you wont be able to touch the head upon purchase... hth

  • nicely done!

  • Nice review. Thank you so much for the comparison. :)

  • do you use your st ives scrub with these?

  • I have the Olay Pro X system, and I love it. I do feel that it cleanses well. The bristles are soft enough, (like you said in your vid) that you don't hve to be extra careful with pressure, and you don't feel that its not doing its job.

I personally would suggest Pro X to anyone. The price alone is wonderful, and the product does work.

  • I purchased the clarisonic about a week ago and was totally unimpressed. I felt like it was just a pricey gadget and didn't even make my topical products go on smoother. For anyone on the fence I would highly recommend trying a cheaper option like this one! Love your vids, Gina! xo

  • Thanks for the review^_^ I will definitely go get me a olay pro x now

  • Helpful review/ comparison. Thanks

  • you should never exfoliate your skin daily especially if you have dry skin it is too harsh on the skin just cleanse, tone and moisturize, if you have normal to oily skin I'd maybe exfoliate every other day if you have dry skin exfoliate about once a week.

  • clairsonic is jealous lol

  • I LOVE this review. I didnt know Olay had an exfoliator. I LOVE Olay products, they always make me happy!

  • What do you think about the clarisonic cleansers? Overrated or effective?

  • Hi Gina I have acne and blemishes and blackheads which one do you reccomend with oily skin? Does it help with premature aging wrinkles? I'm 31 yeara old and can it be used daily?

  • i tried the olay and i did not like it at all the clairsonic works for me

  • do u know when the olay pro x is coming to england?

  • I really wanted the clarisonic but in definitely gonna try the olay first because if it works why waste $200 on a clarisonic! :P thanks for the great review!

  • It WILL go away if you continue to use it. When I was a teen, I didn't have acne very badly, but what I had bothered me. My mother had something exactly like the Pro X that I started using. I got SEVERE acne when I started using it, which went away when I stopped (back to the same 4-5 bumps I normally had). She told me it would break me out again, but it would go away if I kept using it, so I tried it. After the next monster breakout went away, I had 0 acne as long as I used it daily. It works!

  • did you say that the olay brush is $30? because i saw it for 10

  • Hi Gina i got the clarisonic mia too about 2 months ago...and the same problem is happening to me...i used it like everyday wen i first got it!!! but then i slowly started breaking out...then i only did it only every other day....lol ok and then i felt like ok this isnt making my skin break out no more so i started using it everyday again and im breaking out again! .....Do you have any suggestions on what to do? Do you prefer the olay one better?

  • It looks like you may have been pushing the clairisonic bristles down too hard on your hand . My clairisonic naturally moves on my skin(the bristles don't jab in that way) and doesn't irritate it unless I am pressing too firmly on it. I highly recommend the clairisnic, though I'm a little bit biased being that I've never tried the Olay. It's like comparing the Oral B spinning toothbrush to a Sonicare toothbrush. If you prefer a sonicare, I would recommend the Clairisonic and vice versa

  • THIS IS ONE OF THE FEW REALLY GOOD REVIEWS!!! WELL DONE!!!!! LIKE HOW U SHOWED BOTH PRODUCTS!!!

  • Thnks!!

  • the Clarisonic is better. The reason you broke out was because it is increasing bloodflow to the surface of the skin therefore causing a breakout. Also, the Clarisonic is waterproof. Not water resistant like the Olay. which means you cannot submerge it into water like you can with the Clarisonic. spend the extra money - you'll see the difference.

  • Thanks for this!! Super helpful :). I was debating spending the money on the clarisonic but will definitely try the olay first.

  • I definitely like the rotatiing one better than the vibrating one alone, cleans better.

    Thanks for the demonstration.

  • i think the olay prox is awesome because its a lot cheaper. but the money you will spend on the batteries arent worth it.

  • olay ,,winning!!!!

  • Thanks a lot for this tutorial, i know now i am going to get olay one

  • i was undecided between the two, but now im convinced to get the Olay Pro X!

Also I would use a makeup brush cleaner to clean the brushes. Try investing in Cinema Secrets.

  • how do you clean the brushes?

  • really great review =]

  • Great review, thanks! I am going to pick up an Olay brush soon =)

  • do yu recommend this for acne/prone skin ???? ive been getting breakouts lately..and i would like to know if this can clean my skin good.

  • How do you sanitize and clean them?

  • Hi, thanks for the review! I've been looking into getting the Clarisonic but I'm glad i saw this before i spend so much money! I have oily skin, with severe breakouts..i get 2-3 pimples every single day n more before my period. Do you think the olay would help me? Does it matter what skin type you have when purchasing these sort of gadgets? Thanks again! tc

  • you could always buy rechargeable batteries. or lithium. a little more expensive but last 10x's longer

  • omg i'm so glad i saw this!

  • Ok Gina your killing me...nawww your saving me some cash and I thankyou! I was in Costco and bought this last night, I just remember this video and again I trust your reviews more then any guru on here so I am going to give it a shot. I just couldnt drop 145 for the Mia so hopefully this is nice for me XOXO, Sheri

  • So I have the Oaly one and love it. I am still wanting a Clarisonic though.. What do you think? Do you think I need the Clarisonic still?? Can you please let me know. And also, how is the Olay working for you compared to your Clarisonic now that more time has passed since you made this video?? P.S. You are hilarious!!! " The Clarisonic is jealous"!!!! Thanks girl for all of your helpful reviews = )

  • great review. i was looking for something more affordable than the clarisonic. saw the olay prox at costco and wasn't impressed -- seemed too cheap, small and flimsy. plus it rotates instead of vibrating like the clarisonic. i found a much better alternative called sirius skinsonic. it's basically a clarisonic clone with more brushes and attachments. and it's only $50.

  • PLEASE ANSWER! How do you antibacterial them?! My clarisonic has a horrible mildew smell and i tried boiling the bristles and using an antibacterial soap and it didnt work! I only have had mine one month!! Please help....

  • @ninabenz419 you're suppose to replace the brushes with refills. run about $10.99

  • @ninabenz419 have you tried changing the brush? they say you have to change it every 3 months

  • @ninabenz419 You have to make sure you wash the brush head after every use with anti-bacterial hand soap and dry it very well, so it doesnt sit around wet and getting "musty" smelling. I would buy another brush head and going from there. Also I know some girls that have rubbing alcohol in a little spray bottle and they spritz some on the bristles after every use. Ive heard you shouldnt do that because it breaks the brush head down. But they seem to have no problems doing so.

  • @ninabenz419 Hey girl.. Just wanted to let you know that I read on the Clarisonic website to soak the brush head in one part bleach and one part water. It said to soak it overnight.. Also make sure when you are done using it, you take the brush head off and dry it very well, both the brush head and the Clarisonic and behind where the brush head goes. If it stays wet in there it will grow soap scum and other yucky stuff!!

  • @ninabenz419 Change your brush head

  • @speakbutwalk I took it back to Sephora, and they said that shouldn't happen if you have only had it for a month. They gave me a brand new one. Thanks for your suggestion though.

  • @ninabenz419

I believe they need to be replaced.

  • @Haystacks Yes, they do need to be replaced. I know that....every 3 months or so. That is why I took it back to sephora and they gave me a brand new one because I only had had it for about a month! :)

  • @ninabenz419 buy a new head maybe?!?!?!

  • @benavidezaly13 SInce I only had it for one month....I returned it and the people where I bought it gave me a brand new one. They said that they are supposed to last at least 3 months and then change them! Thank you though :) I love my new clarisonic they are amazing.

  • @ninabenz419 you can get new heads/brushes for them

  • @mylifeasagirlygirl Yes I know that....thanks! :) I just only had mine for a month so that shouldnt have happened. I returned it to where I bought it and they gave me a brand new one

  • @ninabenz419 i use denture cleanser tabs for my toothbrushes and clarisonic. works awesome.

  • @ninabenz419 Have you tried soaking it in a mild bleach solution? I would try that, be sure you wash it out really well after :)

  • @ninabenz419 there are disposable heads?

  • I Love mine and I use re-chargable batteries in mine

  • I have brought the Olay Pro X several weeks ago.. I am loving it.. Makes my face so smooth..

    It's a winner!!!!!!

  • Two months ago, I bought the Doctors' Dermalogical System brush that is just like the Olay one, but also has a microdermabrasion sponge head in addition to the brush head. I also have a Clarisonic. I use them all on rotation throughout the week and I love them! My skin is smooth and glowing.

  • You remind me of Cher!

  • I have a question. I have a vibrating thing just like the clarosonic but it has a flat pad on the end. I also have the rubber scrubby from the loreal 360 clean and I have the wave. I just don't have a brush on the end. Do you think I need the olay or clarasonic?

  • Wow this was sooo helpful! Thank you.

  • I was waiting for someone to do a review with the clarisonic AND olay pro-x! Thanks so much! great review :D

  • Hi, I just found your channel today while searching for a review on the OLay Pro cleasning system- I really enjoyed it- and now I cant wait to watch the rest of your videos!

    Im a subbie!!! yeaaaaaa

  • hey gina, nice vid. i saw a video on @AModelRecommands that some guy from clarisonic said the clarisonic does not "spin" because it will tuck the skin too much which will eventually cause wrinkle and the outer ring of the bristles is not supposed to move so it can prevent the foam/water from the brush flying around. i do buy that because my electronic tooth brush always splash the foam everywhere. just an FYI=]

  • Great Review!!!

  • use re-chargeable batteries! then you dont waste buying new sets of batteries...having re-chargeable batteries for only your olay use..its like charging the clarisonic!

  • I'm interested in learning more about how you sanitize your brush head.

  • Gina! YAY!! I agree one million percent! I love the Olay brush..I got the Clarisonic as a gift back in the day and thank GOD I didn't pay full price for that thing! I like the Olay more than the Clarisonic..and I was glad to pay the 30 bucks for it..love love love it! Great video, beautiful! I miss you, doll..your make up is stunning here..as always..but I love the eyeshadow here. You rock! LOVE you!

    oxoxo

    - Jess

  • Just want to add that acne can be caused by hormones as well which can fluctuate throughout our lives. I love your review and I am definitely thinking the Olay Pro is the one I am going to go with! Thank you for another great video!

  • Great review! I purchased the ISkin last Sept and have been using it ever since and I recommend it to everyone I know. I'll have to add the Olay one to the list of "try me!" products :) I have not had to replace the batteries yet in my ISkin! I have used it nightly now for 5 months so that is pretty good! I will def check out the Olay version if my ISkin kicks the bucket. Thx again =)

  • I am an aesthetician and I haven't used the clarisonic yet. I think the breaking out part would be from over stimulation.

  • thinking of getting the mia myself...............love ur videos.

  • What about the prita(?) one from drugstore (dot) com

  • Thank you for the review. Love your eye make up. Looks amazing. A tutorial would be great :)

  • Thanks for this, gina! I didn't even realize that Olay had done a similair brush and I had kept waiting for a drugstore company to do so. I, like you, wanted the clarisonic brush for my birthday. Now I am doubting it. Plus I have very sensitive skin with occasional breakouts! I'm still thinking about it but thanks again! :)

  • This was an AMAZING review!!!! Thank you so MUCH! I bought the Pro X today thinking I was totally compromising and that I should've just waited a bit and bought the Mia. I think I am going to be really happy wiht the Pro X after watching your video! Yesssss!!!! :O)

  • yeah that makes sence

  • can you show how you sanitize and dry your brush head? thank you!!

  • @curabear1 A cheap way to sanitize your brush is to 1. Rinse as much makeup as you can off of the brush. 2. Submerge the brush only in pure rubbing alcohol for a few minutes then rinse well. 3. Dabb as much of the water off of the brush as you can with a clean, white towel. 4. Dry the remaining moisture with your blow dryer "optional." As long as it is only damp, you can let it air dry with the bristols face down so that water can't seep down to the bottom of the scrubbing unit. Hope this helps!

  • Thankyou for this, cause I have been wondering and I have sensitive skin.

  • Thank you so much! very helpful review!

  • How do you sanitize the brush heads?

  • Thank you so much for the review. You just saved me so much money!

  • Thanks for review. How many Olay batteries did you go through within two weeks?

  • @Amelia25Moon I have to change mine...also I have a battery rechaarger, so no issue for me. I love it! Does the same thing.

  • makeup tutorial for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LMAO when you turned on the olay brush it looked like a fan blowing the clarisonic away!

  • That retarded brush I can't find ANYWHERE! They have been advertising it in Rite aid and CVS, but they don't have it on the shelves! What in hell is that all about. So of course I had no idea what it cost. I was thinking of getting it for Renate (my daughter), to see how things go, before I spend the big bucks on her. I don't know if they haven't gotten it in, or whether it just sells out so fast? Anyhoo, I'm glad it is good, I'll keep going back. thanks hottie..eyes look stunning!!

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle

yeh I've gone to 3 stores already and they were all sold out! I've gone to CVS, Target, and RiteAid. Kind of ridiculous, but for 30 dollars.. that's a STEAL so better get it and hope they don't discontinue it or anything :/

  • @BabiiMackiinz I hear you. I don't think they will, especially after the "response" of it being sold out all the time. I think it might be a little like the urban decay "naked" pallet. Once everyone has it, the shelves will stock up again. We'll just hang in there together hun:) Just a little patience (and I know.... I was born without it)

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle Have u tried Walmart???

  • @MoiraS63 Actually, helloooo, why did i not think of that? You brilliant person you. OMG, I feel very blonde right about now... We have a very suckish walmart where we live, so I tend to not ever go there. It is kind of out of my "realm" so to speak, and I used to be such a avid walmart shopper. Thanks for reminding me hun:)

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle lolol. I know the feeling, but when you can't find something, Walmart just might have it. If you don't feel like going there, try on line and Amazon. Cheap replacements. :))

  • @MoiraS63 Oh not online yet, I'm going to check Walmart first. Might get the surprise of a lifetime. And that will be all thanks to you:) when we lived in Canada, we used to drive over the border to the Walmart in Ogdensburg New York. OMG, that was the awesomest walmart ever! I swear it was like a holiday, going there. Here I am in the states and wouldn't I end up with a walmart that reminds you of those "walmart" creature pictures you always get online. Have you ever seen them? OMG!!!

  • Great review! I have that Olay one too, my Clarisonic went back..because it freaked me out on the damage it did to my skin...sad because my fiancee gave it to me for xmas after I said u better get it or else! Since I have never thrown batteries away because it is bad for the earth..I recharge all my batteries! : )) I love this one much better for really sensitive skin and it has not broke me out at all! Hugs and an have an awesome weekend!

  • I love, love, love my mia. I do wish I could change the speed on it though.

  • Thanks Gina that does help I do need advice though would u think the olay would be too strong for an 11 year old she's got break outs around nose. What's your opinion thanks :)))

  • Sally's actually came out with a clarisonic dupe called the iskin and that is very similar in size. Thanks for the review !

  • Excellent review! Thanks for sharing your knowledge
