I like this sound because I get to do what I love and that is to help people. If we didn't get called, the situation would be much worse. I love the sound of my pager, had 4 house fires and a hotel fire in the past month. and then silence, havent heard the wonderful beeping in a day or two, i think i might go insane if i dont hear it again soon, lol

The fire service needs more volunteers that love this sound and the drive to get up and go that comes with it, that drive may keep a life or a home from becoming a memory. The Fire/Rescue/EMS service calls on its personnel to deal with death and loss on a regular basis. It's understandably normal to lose this drive when faced with truamatic situations of loss repetitively. However, the few that push through and keep that drive are the ones that define a FIREFIGHTER! @alabamaskies Unfortunatly when you hear that sound it normally means something bad is happening. But as bad as it may be, any real fireman loves that sound. It means getting to do what you love to do. It means getting the chance to fight fire. Getting the chance to save a life. Idk about you, but i didnt join the fire service to get a t-shirt and a locker with my name tag on it. I joined to do the job. I still do it because i love being a fireman.I love doing what most dont want to do.
