easier way at the beginning, when you cut spread the cards just look at the top two cards, saves the confusion of cutting them and the possibility of them asking why you cut them, if you just look at the top two cards and then continue the trick they dont think you have done anything yet.

@videogamesrok What's wrong with that? Since you already know the top card, switch and do a different mentalism trick. Have the spectator look at the card, bury it in the deck himself, and allow him to shuffle the cards. Now you're ready to read his mind.

Shuffle the cards, then have a spectator pick a card 1st, then re-shuffle the deck. Then spread the cards on the table showing they are all mixed up. Then split the deck anywhere between two cards and remember the two cards that will be on the top and bottom of the deck. Have the spectator split the deck anywhere they would like. Then u can do the swing cut and put their card in the middle of the deck. By letting them choose a card 1st, it wont matter if they choose the 1st card.

it's better to let them close up the deck after they have moved their card to eliminate the doubt that you somehow can see which card that has been moved by the way it has shifted angle/position. It's a great trick!

I also let them shuffle the deck and after fan out the cards in my hand face up to prove they have been shuffled and meanwhile sneak a peek at the top and bottom card. The only shuffle I make is the last one.
